Auckland is gearing up
for what could be the biggest party since the Rugby World Cup.
The NRL Nines kick off tomorrow,
with over 45,000 fans filling the stadium this weekend.
Peata Melbourne was amongst the action today
as league fans from around the world
gathered in the heart of Auckland.
Space became a premium at Aotea Square
with league legends and their fans experiencing Maori culture.
It was an awesome experience
to see and hear our language used to welcome all the teams.
However, the crowds came for one thing only,
and that was to see their heroes in the flesh.
Among them were some of the die-hard.
45,000 tickets have been sold for this competition
and police are cautioning both players and fans alike...
Despite that,
the players and their fans are in a festive mood.
Players believe that their own teams will be successful.
You need to believe in yourself.
Our team has pulled no stops in training
and our players are ready.
We're ready to go all out.
May the best team win.
Peata Melbourne, Te Karere.
