Igbocurls: Exactly So I am going to be doing a really high bun.
Most of you have requested this tutorial even via email so I will be doing that in this
video. This style will work for medium length hair, at least with 6inches worth of growth
to however long your hair is, it will work for you, so let's get right into the tutorial.
Alright! Oyiboamaka: Yoolz!!
😂😂😂 Chidinmma!
I used A'akuba Naturals 100% Pure Coconut
Oil with a spray nozzle to make my hair shine. My natural hair is already soft and stretched
from wearing it in two plaits for about 2 weeks so that is why it is really big right
now. So when I am done spraying I use my hands to smooth the coconut oil all over my hair.
As soon as I am through with that, I begin to use my hands to push my hair in the direction I
want it to be. So I begin to push it upwards and just smoothen it with my fingers, then
I get a bristle brush to smooth my nape hair and my edges.
As soon as I am done, I use my satin scarf to tie around my head. I do this because it
prevents my elastic band from pulling on my hair when I try to move it forward. It just
helps the whole process be more seamless.
As you can see, my elastic hair band is really
worn but it is super stretched and just how I like it. So I just put it twice around my
neck and it gives that really choking feeling. I am not sure why I did not remove my glasses
at this stage but if you wear glasses, please take them off when you are about to do this
and I just put it down and simply chase it with my satin scarf upwards.
Then you stop just a little bit towards the middle and
divide the ends of your hair into
4 sections, if your hair is shorter, divide your hair into 6 sections and just twist.
I lightly finger detangle, just to give my hair that smooth look of a blow-out and once I am
done finger-detangling, I just split my natural hair into two and twist only the tips, that
is, only the ends of the hair. So all you need to do is repeat the steps
for each of your sections: that is, detangle, smooth and twist and once you are done, you
can start arranging your massive bun. I start by picking the two front sections, and then
I slowly join the others and then I twist the ends/tips together at the top and I keep
moulding my natural hair until I get my desired look. This might take a while especially if
your hair is as full as mine or if your hair falls rather than stays as a puff just like
mine. So I just had to keep messing with it. Kept pulling out some sections and patting
down some sections but eventually, the bun comes together.
After you have twisted your ends/tips together, secure it with a bobby pin at the top and
yea, that is pretty much how you get your Royal Crown. So as I said earlier, this works
for 6inches worth of hair to however long your hair is. I have been wearing this style
since my first year natural and of course, it was a lot shorter and smaller than this
then it will work for you.
So if you don't like the look of your elastic
band, you can always cover up with an accessory. I do not have an accessory for this at the
moment I used a scarf. A pretty purple scarf that I had and I will show you two different
ways you can tie it. You can choose to tie it across the middle covering only the elastic
band or you can choose to tie it across your head completely to cover the back and a bit
of the front as well.
So yes, that is about it, if you liked or
