Brian D. Lawenda, MD >>>There are several warnings signs that patients may notice as
warning signs of lymphedema. They may notice that their jewelry on the affected arm not
fitting as well, for example their watch, their rings, their bracelets and that can
happen more as the disease process or as the condition rather progresses and the fluid
starts pooling out more in the tissues.
Early on, the patient may simply just notice that the arm feels a little heavier, may be
little achier, and they may notice that the range of motion of their arm may feel like
they are not able to lift their arm as easily or bend their elbows as easily.
These are more of the common symptoms. It is very rare to find somebody actually has
pain from lymphedema, although patients do complain of that occasionally.
