Now I'm going to get the other beads ready to be placed on the string where the large
bead is hanging. I'm going to make some few last minute decorations onto the beads, using
the same metallic marker. Again, this is an optional step; there are no real rules to
how to decorate these beads. But anything that makes it stand out will make the project
nicer and more successful in the end. Now we've finished decorating the beads, and we're
going to attach it to the string. The string should be about fifteen inches in length.
Now, the big beads should be already tied to the bottom, and we're just going to take
the end of the string, and just string the beads right onto the end. Once the beads are
placed onto the string, make sure that they fall all the way to the bottom, and that the
string is kept straight. We see that's how it's going to hang, the larger bead. Now we
can get a good idea of what that actually does to the entire string of beads. It's much
heavier, and it gives the whole string of beads its swinging weight. And that's basically
what's going to be on the inside of the cup. The way we're going to tie the string of beads
is by taking the string, and bringing it up through the top bead again. So now that it's
actually wrapped around the top bead from the inside, similar to the bottom bead that
we made the knot; the big bead, once the string is wrapped around the top bead, we can go
ahead, and make our knot, and it will stay into place. And that will hold the entire
string in place, and not let it fall off on either end. We have two beads; one on top,
and one on the bottom, securely fastened and tied in a knot. So this is the way we create
our string of beads, to be placed inside the cup; that will give us the sound we're looking
for in our bell.
