OK, today I'll show you how to play Orion by Metallica on acoustic guitar!
This is an instrumental song and my favourite tune by Metallica
The intro I played for you had 4 parts....
In the first part you can hear the ringing pedal E note that lasts throughout this part.
You'd need to pick the notes on the A+D strings at the same time. Also I mute the strings with the palm of my hand
Bm
and B major
The third part is played by the bass player not by the lead guitarist.
It's all about the rhythm in this part, you need to be very accurate!
The fourth part is very similar although the melodic movement is played an octave down. Also when you star playing this part with the original recording, you will find it very difficult
It's because Lars, the drummer moves the accents. This is my favourite part, have a listen to the original track. It's so hard to keep this rhythm when Lars changes the accents!
