this video is going to help you find your first learning unit you start by going to the assignments link and clicking there then you are going to find your assignments and they are in the form of learning units learning units are represented by these small tabbed folders so you go ahead and open your second assignment and what you will do is use the index that is over here on the left to take you through all of the requirements of that assignment: of that learning unit you start out by reading both your first and second chapters when you are done reading your are going to be executing something called a chapter commentary and to help you out I've got a sample of a completed chapter commentary that you can download and take a look at to turn in your chapter commentary just go to the 3rd link down and you are going to find that you can either type it in directly or you can upload a document and I really recommend doing the assignment on your own computer saving a copy and then uploading and submitting a document directly here in the learning unit all right, after you have completed your chapter commentary you are going to be reading a blog and to get to that blog -- it is another blog that I wrote for you -- go ahead and click on the link right here and you will be directed to that blog it is a blog that talks about what it takes to appreciate a work of art and it talks about the fact that being there is best but there are other ways to appreciate a work of art all right, when you are done with that you are going to be watching a short youtube video it is about a 4 minute video that describes a work by Damien Hirst and finally you are going to be discussing that work of art and when you look here you'll find the prompt you'll find all of the things I would like you to talk about when you discuss that work of art take a look at those maybe even copy them in to your computer and then you are going to go to the class discussion board where you will be able to open that discussion you will be able to add a thread and you'll be able to participate in the discussion one thing that is important about the discussions is that once they are completed I hope you will go back in the following week and reply to at least what three other students have said.
