what's up guys
seekaboo here and today I'm going to be teaching you how to fix a
reoccurring crash
that Fallout New Vegas seems to have
now
this will work for people who use mods
and who do not use mods but for those of you the use mods
i would strongly recommend checking to make sure that your load order
is proper because if it's not
this may not fixed your crashing at because
to crashing may be occurring because of your load order
so in order to do that
i would recommend using fallout mod manager you can get on the nexus
and it will
help with your load order if you would like to do that
but for those of you who don't use mods and are getting crashes
it's most likely your game and i'm gonna show you how to fix that
so what you want to do
is go to start
documents
my games
fallout new vegas
in fallout .ini
mine does not .ini and yours might not either but as long as you click on
and the file is all caps and says fallout fallout
you should get
fallout notepad
to be very careful on this page and don't change anything that i don't tell you to
what you want to look for is a file
titled bUseThreaded
that should be near the bottom of the first said of uh... scripts
and it is right here
what you want to so
is delete the zero
and replace it with a one
and then push enter
and type in
iNum
HWT
hreads
=2
that's i
Num
HWT
hreads
=2
and make sure
that you pay close attention to how i typed this in
all caps in certain areas
and lower case in others because if you don't this will not work
so make sure to lower case "I"
a capital "N"
a capital "H"
"W"
and the rest is all lower case
you're having trouble reading what is on your your screen right now i would
recommend it going down to the corner of this video and selecting HD
because it helps tremendously
now if you do that
you can either push Ctrl + S
on your keyboard to save it or you can go out to file
and save
make sure you save this though
after you do that
you wanna go to start
computer
hard disk drive window C
program files eighty six like i said my last tutorial if you using a
sixty four-bit uh... system
this is the one you're going to go to
but if you're not you'll just be going to normal program files
thing you want to go to steam
steam apps
commen
fallout new vegas
and you want to look for fallout
default
and you wanna click on it
now this will bring you to that same exact page that you were just on
before
same page only this one
has not been changed yet
for me it has so as you can see is says b
usethreadedAi and instead of that being zero it's a one
yours will just say zero
and you want to delete zero and replace it with the one
as seen here
and you want to put
the same thing you did on the last page underneath that
i
Num
HWT
h
rea
ds
=2 and make sure that you catch the in all the appropriate places
as you can see on my screen
now when you're done
dot those two spots right there should look exactly the same on yours as they
do on mine
if they don't
make sure they do and whatever you do don't delete anything else on this page
after do you do that
you're gonna wanna
control s
save the file appear again like he did the last time
after you done that
you can exit out
your game should no longer crash
now this isn't always a guaranteed fixed because depending on what's crashing
your game
is going to be you what's causing it and that may not have been what it was
for most of you it probably is
and that should have helped stop crashing
uh...
so go try your game now and if he keeps crashing there are other solutions out
there
and as soon as i locate them
i will
Post More Tutorials
but until then
i hope this helped uh...

a big pain
it it definitely
puts a damper on your game
