Hi! Today I want to tell you something personal
today - not the day you're watching the video
but this date that I'm shooting the video
it's the 15th of June
it's the second birthday a year of my second son Gabriel
yes my second son has to birthdays every year
my boy got his life twice
once when I gave birth to him on February 18th
and second time almost four months later
on June 15 when he went through his open-heart surgery
to fix his little heart
in this day the Angels of Ramon y Cajal Hospital
gave life for the second time to my sweet little boy
the surgery lasted six very stressful hours
that left like eternity
the next days in the intensive care
also felt like a roller coaster
but eventually everything is great
and now our sweet little Gabriel
has to birthdays every year
two reasons to celebrate - isn't it great?
this tough experience
such as few other tough experiences I had in my life
such as when the court decided
that my big boy, my first son from my first marriage
that was raised by me for 7 years after the divorce
is not allowed to come and live with me
and my new family in another country
and he needs to go under the custody of his father
in order to stay
such as discovering that Gabriel, my second boy
has a rare genetic syndrome
and he will not be a regular child
such as losing all my money
and going into huge debts to the banks
because of a business that failed
trying to survive as a single mother with no money
these tough experiences
made me a strong resilient person
and I'm so thankful for them
if I would have some magic
that would let me change things
wouldn't I give up on these hard times in my life?
for my kids - definitely yes!
no doubt!
I would do anything to make it easier on my kids
but for myself I'm not quite sure
that I would give up on what I've been through
Bob Marley said
You never know how strong you are
until being strong is your only choice
our strength is what makes us unique
and part of the value we offer to the world
and if we don't know how strong we are
we don't utilize our strengths as fully as we could
and we potentially miss out on true fulfillment
in our lives
so I want to raise a toast
for Gabriel's second birthday
for the health and happiness of our children
and for the hard times in our lives
that made us as great as we are
cheers!
