Clea Erase is a protective liquid coat that can be seamlessly applied to interiors as
easily as traditional paint
with Clear Erase you can turn any smooth low porosity surface in any colour
into a write on, write off surface
scribbles and marks are wiped away.
this video shows you how to install Clear Erase and create your own wipe on, wipe off
surface
the beauty of Clear Erase is that it's totally transparent so the underlying
color, pattern, and texture will show through
surface marks, scuffs and imperfections will show
so please ensure the surfaces is as clean and smooth as possible before you begin
existing painted surfaces should be clean, dry,
and free of grease and mildew
matt emulsion walls may need priming first
if you're repainting first, sand the existing area smooth and fill any holes
or scratches
use a quality primer and vinyl satin or eggshell paint
be sure to apply the paint as smoothly as possible
with little or no stippling, lap marks, or roller lines
let the paint dry
this may take up to four hours
with your surface properly prepped
we're now ready to apply Clear Erase
you will need
an nine-inch paint roller, a lint free quarter-inch nap roller cover,
a clean tray,
low-tack masking tape, and a dust cloth.
remove particles from the roller using masking tape.
Some things to keep in mind before you start mixing Clear Erase:
when parts one and two are combined
they have an open time of sixty minutes
if you're going to be working in more than one area
make sure all the surface are prepped and ready before you start mixing
there are two size kits available
the small kit covers three point seven square meters and the larger kit covers
eight point three six square meters
stir the mixture while pouring part one into part two
mix thoroughly for three to three and a half minutes
doesn't shake cleary raise
shaking can cause bubbles which can have an adverse effect on the application
as part one and two are combined
the mixture will begin to thicken slightly
make sure you scrape the sides and bottom of the can you want everything
worked into the mix
also
don't combine multiple kids
and don't reseal the cans once opened
let the mixed Clear Erase sweat in for five minutes
then pour it into a clean tray
so that you can blend the cut in before the paint begins to dry
roll vertically
maintaining a wet edge
and backroll to maintain evenness
inspect the application from various angles
make sure the coverage is nice and even and keep a lookout for dry patches or
pin holes
patches and pin holes usually indicate an area where the coverage is too thin
just apply a bit more Clear Erase to that area and blend it in with the
surrounding area to avoid lap marks
don't apply more Clear Erase than necessary
don't use a roller cover with more than a quarter inch nap
this can result in a surface that looks cloudy once dry
Clear Erase dries quickly so remove the tape while the paint is still wet
dispose of the roller after use
the tray can be cleaned with warm soapy water
and areas where Clear Erase got under the tape
can be cleaned with a damp cloth
allow Clear Erase to fully cure for five days before writing on the surface
we recommend using Clear Erase surface conditioner before writing for the first
time
a bottle is supplied with every order
when Clear Erase is cured for five days apply a thin ribbon of conditioner
to an area about a meter square
using the soft cloth spread the condition over the surface with an even
back-and-forth pressure
buff the area with a clean cloth
and moved to the next section
if you choose not to condition the surface
you may notice that some pen marks appear watery
this happens when parts one and two aren't mix thoroughly
this effect will diminish through normal use
the more your Clear Erase surface is written on the better it will perform
over time
ink dust may build up this is easily removed with dry erase cleaning spray
after using spray cleaner
it's a good idea to wipe the surface with clean water to remove any leftover
residue
following these simple steps
will result in a quality installation and help you create a unique space
