Even if we’re black
we all have the same rights.
If we're white
we all have the same rights.
If we're poor
we all have the same rights.
If we're disabled
we all have the same rights.
If we're homosexual
we all have the same rights.
If we're indigenous
we all have the same rights.
If we're from different places, have different beliefs
we all have the same rights.
In a bit, we’ll show you how the youth around the country uses those rights.
But for now, let's watch our brand new drama.
It's about a young girl who’s trying to show that women have the same rights as men.
Tivea the ball!
Yeah! Go Tivea, go! Score a goal!
Hey! You're a literature student. Why are you cheering for a guy from the Psychology department?
You're a traitor!
I don't care. I don't cheer for any literature department or psychology department. I cheer for the best player.
Tivea! Go, Tivea!
Hello Leak! Where are you?
Hey! That's a foul! Not fair! Sorry, dear, yes?
Ok! Ok. I know where you are now.
Sreyleak...! Leak...! Leak...! Are you ok?
Please, move aside.
Leak...! Leak...! Are you ok?
Leak, I'm really sorry! What happened? Srey Leak, you ok?
It's my fault.
Let's me see your head. It's fine.
Ok, follow my finger.
Seems fine.
Let's take her to the first aid center. Okay.
Continue playing, Khem. I need to...
Ok, let's play!
Hey, girls! Don't stay so near here. Or you might suffer more of the same. Step back!
Hmm... seems hard for her to walk. Let's carry Leak.
Crowd: Woo...
Does it hurt? No, it's fine.
Keep it clean. Yes, sure. Thanks a lot.
Hmmmm, my nose!
Don't worry, dear. It'll be fine.
Can't you see how ugly this is?
I look so pale. Maybe I lost too much blood.
Come on, it wass just a little. No matter what, you are still beautiful. Believe me!
See? So beautiful.
We have a problem. Only ten students have said so far that they are interested in the blood drive.
Maybe because of the exams. If we need more people we may have to delay the date.
Yes. Why don't we push it back and do it on February 14? What do you think?
Valentine's day? Come on, dear. Everyone is going to be busy on that special day.
Yes, I know. But they can be together while donating blood. That's more romantic, no?
Blood is red, red is the colour of love. Give blood, give love. Not bad, eh?
Cool!
Why does it have to be on Valentine's day?
Hmmmm, why is it taking so long to recover, huh?
Hi, dear!.... I can't come today. I'm not well.
Yeah... it's your good luck. With me absent, you can earn more tips!
Okay, bye.
Metrey! Hey!
I'm calling dibs on this teddy bear.
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess who never talked to any man, even her own father.
The king was really worried.
He promised to marry the princess to any man who could make her talk.
Many came and tried but all failed.
One day, a handsome young man arrived. He had magical powers.
But he didn't speak to the princess.
Instead, he imbued the door with a spirit, and began to talk to with it.
Door, I heard that you are the smartest in the world, right?
The princess could hear him talking to the door. She was interested to hear his story.
Good! So Mr. Intelligent door, I will give you a puzzle and let's see you can solve it.
Once upon a time, there were four men...
The first man was a fortune teller, the second an archer, the third was the best swimmer
and the last was a holy healer.
One day, those four men came to an ocean.
The first man prophesied that a moment later, an eagle would fly by with a beautiful lady in its talons.
So was his prophecy true or not?
We will discuss it next class. We're finished for today.
Hey...! It's time to leave.
Uh, just give me a minute. I need to finish this.
Hey! Don't interrupt. It's a men's game.
When are you going to move? After another hour?
OK! Ork!
Hey, I play alone and you two together? Unfair!
Hey! It's always unfair for the loser.
Come on, we need to go to the blood bank.
Sure. Let's go.
Don't forget our bet of two baluts (duck embryoes)!
Man! You showed the Student Association Leader that girls can play a man's game too.
Loy9 (awesome 9)!!!
Damn it!
As usual, young people prefer to have a romantic time at Koh Pich, cinema, karaoke.
If there is no space or no chairs left at those places, then they may go to donate blood.
Not a bad idea. If you want to reach young people that's a good day to do it.
Yes, that's our intention.
So, Director, generally, how many people can the blood bank manage in a day?
A maximum of four hundred people in a day.
OK! We will bring those four hundred on Valentine's day.
We do a blood donation drive every year at your University. Last year only 50 people came.
Yes, but this year we will work hard and get more people to come.
Good. I like your spirit. But, you know, it should not be only for Valentine's day.
It should be everyday that people come to donate blood.
Try to convince people to do that. Okay?
Yes, we'll certainly do that.
Your said okay to four hundred! Four hundred!
How are we going to get four hundred people to come to the blood drive?
Why not?
As you know, every year at university so few people come.
You heard the director. Most people don't know about it or even if they know they do, aren't interested.
That's why we need to make a campaign about it.
It could be posters, flyers, a radio announcement, or even a video clip.
Yeah, you're right!
It's not as easy as you say, how are we going to find money to do all that?
Yes, money... So what should we do then?
I've got an idea! Tomorrow at the student association meeting, let's talk to Khem.
Maybe the Student Association has some funds.
Ok, let's go!
The 14th of February?
It's a day to celebrate love. Don't make it so dark with all that bloody stuff.
Love is not just between two people. Love is for everyone.
So let them share their love with other people too.
Yeah, and we've already talked with the blood bank and they're happy to shift the date.
But we've already planned an event for that day.
Don't you see all these people coming to register for the love song competition?
Why can't both be done on the same day?
Yeah! They can donate blood and then join the song competition. It's a great idea!
Come on! Don't talk nonsense. How are people suppose to donate blood on a happy day like that?
Why not? Giving blood makes you feel good.
Hmm... well, if you think so let's put it to a vote. Who votes to hold the blood drive and song contest on the same day?
Five of nine. So that decides it.
The blood donation event will be on the same day with the love song competition.
But do we have the budget?
Our budget is just enough for the song competition.
See? That's another reason not to do it.
We will do our own fundraising then.
Fine! But it's not as easy as you say.
Okay. Now on with the rest of our agenda.
I've invited a lecturer who's working on the Student Association's election to meet you all.
I would like to inform that, now we are going to elect our new Student Association leader.
We will distribute the form to the class monitors and vice-class monitors to stand for election.
As you know, the current leader of Student Association is going to join
an exchange programme in United States.
So, he won't be able to be with us anymore.
Is that right Khem? Yes, it is.
Does anyone want to beat me in this election?
I have no time to do so.
I don't like politics.
Come on, Just try! I've registered already. It's a democratic country.
Who knows? Maybe you can be the leader of the Student Association, and later on
... a representative at the National Assembly.
We got the approval for fundrasing now. Khem just got it from the dean.
Sorry! Is this the first aid center or... ?
Doesn't he know anything about girls? How's he ever going to win the heart of one?
Come on! She's doing it for you.
Loy (awesome)! But this is not a beauty salon.
She's here because she has a heart disease. She needs first aid from you.
She was waiting for Dr Love to come.
Oh! Is that right?
OK, back to business. We need to raise funds for the blood drive. Any ideas?
Selling soy beans!
Selling SIM cards.
Any others ideas?
How about putting a fundraising box in each class?
Good idea!
Anyone want to donate some money now?
Come on, Metrey and Tivea!
1,2,3...Yay!
Let's check the box! It's a bit heavy.
Money! 500 Riel, 1,000 Riel
Wow... Metrey there's a lot!
Let's count it.
Yay, another 500 Riel!
Cool!
We got more than last time.
Tune in next week for the next episode of our drama. Now, on with the rest of the show.
Yaro, it seems as though we’ve been on every kind of transportation, right?
True, last week, we were riding on a walking tractor.
This week, we’re riding an elephant in Mondulkiri.
That’s because we all have the same rights and freedom to go wherever we want to.
And we’ll tell you more later about what other rights we have.
But now, on with the show!
Hello, everyone! Welcome to Loy9!
We have an amazing show lined up for you this week!
We’re continuing our race in Loy9 Superhero.
In addition to that, we’ll also see how people around the country receive equal rights.
Now, just sit back and enjoy the show.
Yaro, you look so handsome in that!
Thanks! But I feel a little weird
Do you like our latest drama?
I do. I’m also a university student
So it reminded me of my own experiences.
Me too. It’s a great story about university life.
I remember the one scene where they were playing chess.
I’ll tell you why after we’ve see that part again.
Hey! Don't interrupt. It's a man's game.
When are you going to move? After another hour?
Okay, Ork (checkmate)!
Hey, I play alone and you two together? Unfair!
Hey! It's always unfair for the loser.
Khem told Srey Leak that Ock (chess) is a man’s game
but Metrey knew how to play it better than him. That shows we shouldn’t show prejudice against anyone,
regardless of their gender, age, skin color, or sexuality because we all have the same rights.
That’s right, Catherine.
In fact, we all have the same rights to do whatever we want to
as long as it doesn’t affect other people’s rights.
You're right Yaro!
According to the Cambodian Constitution, Chapter 3, Article number 32:
... we all have the same rights to life, freedom and security
and you can download this document by going to our website www.loy9.com.kh
and click on the WISE VILLAGE
That means it doesn't matter if we're poor or rich
have different beliefS or different political stances, unless we're not Khmer we have the same rights
and we have to respect other people’s rights in everyday life as well.
Yes. In a bit, we’ll go to Dalis to watch a very interesting video
Hello, everyone! Right now, we have a video to show you about a very interesting group of youths in Kampot. Let’s check it out.
When I was about six or seven, my mum sent me to public school just like other children.
At that time I didn't have a wheelchair, so I had a hard time moving around the classroom.
I couldn't move at all when we had a break.
So I had to use my both hands amd knees to get about.
Seeing me like that, my classmates said, "Den, you have legs why can't you walk?"
They didn't understand what happened to me.
And I didn't know how to explain to them because I was so young and shy.
So they tried to make fun of me by copying me.
I told my mum, "Mum, I don't want to go to school anymore."
Then she asked me "why?" and kept encouranging me to go to school. But I gave up.
My name is Phoan Naden.
When I first arrived at this place, I was suprised to see so many disabled people.
I told myself, "I am not the only one, there are others."
I was happy to seei them all learning and enjoying school.
They can read. They can use computers, speak English
amd they also can use musical instrments. Those first moments are still fresh in my mind.
So it pushed me to study.
After I was well trained, I went to perform at Sovanna Phom.
Our performance was supported by the audience, our friends and family.
Epic Art is an artistic organisation. We work on contemporary arts.
We focus on both disabled and abled people. Everyone has a talent, those who are disabled are just as talented
but their disability may have hidden their talent.
Here, we provide art courses and help them to see who they are and what they've got.
It's so that they can show their talent and live happily as part of society.
I want to add that you shouldn't judge disabled people by their appearance but their talents.
In the future, I want to start a band with my friends.
We'll be named "BAIKOK" (leftover rice).
We'll play classical music.
We aim to perform at restaurants and bars once or twice a week.
I hope I can earn some money from when I'm old.
Although those young people in Kampot are disabled
they can still learn and be very good at their jobs.
Epic Arts not only provide employment opportunities to them, but also a chance for them to learn the arts.
That includes dance among many others.
This is a great example that shows us no matter who we are, we all have the same rights.
But we have to make sure our rights are not hindered by others, nor are we hindering theirs.
Now enjoy the next section.
Hello everyone! And welcome to our contestants.
We're now standing in front of Angkor Wat about to start mission number 10 very soon.
Mission 10: Contestants are required to find Apsara as shown in the picture.
Those who find it will get the clue to the next mission.
This Apsara is also holding a mirror.
The purple team was the first team to finish the last mission
so the purple team is allowed to start this mission first.
Next is the pink team who will start the mission seven minutes after purple team.
Green team will start 15 minutes after pink team.
And the blue team will start four minutes after that.
Ready? Yes!!! We're ready!
Here is the clue for purple team.
Good luck guys!
Let's try to find it by walking around.
Do you know where can I find this? Go to the second floor.
Thank you.
And now it's the pink team's turn.
Excuse me, do you know where is this? Go straight and turn left. Look up on the wall.
Thank you.
Is it? What about the crown? No, not the right one. There's a crown in this picture.
I think it should be somewhere around here.
Hey, look at this.
No, it's not.
Walk to the other side, this way.
And here is the clue for green team. Good luck! Thank you.
7,6,5,4,3,2,1... okay you can start now.
Good luck!
Let's go inside and look up on the wall. Who knows, maybe they hid it out front.
Excuse me! Can I ask you a question? Are you from Siem Reap?
Yes, I am. Do you know where this is?
I don't know. Maybe it's somewhere far away.
Oh, it's okay then. Thank you.
Excuse me! Have you ever seen this Apsara?
Apsara holding a flower? No, she's holding this. But what is she holding?
Hmm... go up there. Thank you.
Look at every angle. Angle?
Yes, the angle at which you look. But the inside angle.
So it's there? Yes. So we go this way, right?
Yeah, go to the West. Thank you.
The sign said "Do Not Enter." See?
That means we should enter from the other direction.
Yeah, that's why we crossed here.
Look! It's closed here.
Let's go out this way.
Do you know where this Apsara can be found? I think it's upstairs.
At the top of the temple? yes, at the top.
At the top, but which level? The second level.
The second level on the top.
Thank you a lot.
Which way? This way.
I'm so tired.
I found it!
Are you sure? This one?
The hair... No, not this one. Okay, on to the next.
The Apsara holding mirror.
So what do we called this place? Ta Reach? It's Neak Poan.
So where is Ta Reach? Ta Reach is at the West of the temple.
Thank you.
Here... We found it!
Go this way and climb up!
Get the clue and read it.
Okay, I'll jump down and we'll go this way so they won't see us.
You read it! Stay here and hide so they won't see us and get the clue.
Hold this. And we got money.
Mission 11: Contestants are required to find the Loy9 presenter, where the Royal Plowing ceremony was held in 2010.
It's a part of Angkor Thom temple
It's where, King Jayaraman VII, used to visit and rally his soldiers who'd just returned from war.
When they arrive, the Loy9 presenter will bring them to a dance instructor who will teach them a traditional dance.
After that they have to dance and will be evaluated by a proffessional dancer.
They are allowed to continued to the next mission only if they can satisfy the judge.
The first team to complete the mission will be rewarded 20,000 Riel.
The second team will receive 12,000 Riel.
The third team to complete the mission will receive 4,000 Riel.
And the last team will get nothing. Enjoy the dance!
The Terrace of the Elephants! Let's go!
How do you feel being the first team to complete this mission?
Well, we were right when we arrived here but we didn't look around enough.
Go there you will find it. Where? Where is it?
There, the middle top. Look up on the wall from there to there.
Are you sure, Grandpa? I'm pretty sure!
Thanks a lot, grandpa!
The place where the plowing ceremony was held, please.
How much do you charge? 5,000 Riel for the two of you.
2,500 Reil please! This game is for my community's benefit. Please help us!
2,000 Riel fo two is impossible! What about 2,500 Riel?
If you agree to 4,000 Riel then hop on. Okay, deal.
Take off your bag!
Come here, Amom!
Okay, let's see what's next.
There's money here.
Good luck! Thank you!
Royal Plowing place? The Terrace of the Elephants!
Do you know where the place where the Royal Plowing ceremony was held?
In front, of the Terrace of the Elephants? That's mean Angkor Thom Temple?
Thanks brother! Tell him, we are at Angkor Wat now.
So we go to Bayon temple.
Three of the teams found have found the clue. There's only one team left.
Oh here, isn't it?
Why did you decide to go to Angkor Thom temple? The clue said, it's a part of the Angkor Thom temple complex.
So, it has to be somewhere there.
The Pink team is the first team to arrive.
And green is the second team. Yay!!!
Please stop here.
You really don't know what position you are? You're third!
Welcome purple team! How are you feeling? We're exhuasted.
You're the fourth team to arrive. But, don't worry about it.
For mission 11, you're required to dance a traditional dance, the "Monkey Dance."
At the back there are dance instructors who will teach you how to dance. After that you have to change into traditional clothes.
It's like this right?
Put your hand up at chest height. Chest height?
No, no... do this first.
Put your feet down.
Then move.
Lift one of your feet up.
I can't concentrate. Relax.
Open your hand. Okay, not too big.
Turn around. Lift one of your feet up. Higher!
One foot forward. Then put your hand this way.
Okay, good. Turn around.
Raise your head. It's hard.
Follow me.
Lift your right foot.
And your left foot. Step back.
Open your arms and go backward.
You two have to get closer.
You mean I should follow her? Yes, the man has to follow the woman.
Tune in next week for more Loy9 Superhero!
I'm proud of all the Cambodian youth involved in all the activities both here in the Kingdom and internationally.
Next, we have a song by the band “Count Us In”.
They’re a brand new all-girl band.
Through their song, they’re trying to show us that even if you’re a girl, you still have the same rights as boys.
That's right, it doesn t matter if you're Khmer or another nationality, we all have the same rights to do what we want.
Dalis, Just like what we have mentioned at the begining of the show
the Cambodian Constitution Law states that all Cambodians have the same rights.
So, we have to respect each other rights.
That’s because we three, just like everyone else, have equal rights to life, freedom and personal security.
You can still tune in to Loy9 Radio, live on Sundays, from 12 to 1, on FM 103 MHz.
Or go to our website: www.loy9.com.kh.

For now, it’s time for us to sign off. We'll see you next week.
When we'll bring you some new and interesting things to share.
Bye for now!
Brother, I need some money to go to school.
Again? You're never helping me with the business here!
What can you actually get from studying? You're going to be someone else's wife in the future anyway.
Is it her fault that she was born a girl?
Got discriminated, got blamed, doesn’t have the right to study because they think it’s just a waste of time.
When she hears those words, she becomes hopeless
because she knows that her hard work will be in vain.
Please tell her that no matter what, she has to keep on going and never give up!
Don’t be upset. Just make your dreams come true for a new tomorrow.
Even if we’re boys or girls we have the same value, and the same rights to study and work.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
When she heard this, she wiped her tears away and said she wouldn’t cry again.
She’ll work hard for a brand new day and live her life to the fullest.
She won’t worry about what others say to her, because she knows one day they’ll be proven wrong!
Please tell her that no matter what, she has to keep on going and never give up!
Don’t be upset. Just make your dreams come true for a new tomorrow.
Even if we’re boys or girls we have the same value, and the same rights to study and work.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
Please tell her that no matter what, she has to keep on going and never give up!
Don’t be upset. Just make your dreams come true for a new tomorrow.
Even if we’re boys or girls we have the same value, and the same rights to study and work.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
My song is Loy (awesome)! Men and women have the same rights which is Loy (awesome)! Loy9!
