Finally, I actually know something about a franchise
I'm unpacking a blind bag of as I've seen
"Monsters University" on the big screen.
Unfortunately, it was a rather mediocre flick which came too late
and had way too much asset and character recycling - the latter
is fine with me, but it was just lacking the charme of the first part.
Which is a pity as there could have been so much more about
Mike Wazowski's school years, but in the end, that part was
only about 10 minutes, and the rest in the university.
Which should have been rather clear given the movie's title, but still.
Who's this? I forgot, but I doubt he was that relevant anyway.
Contains one figure,
a sticker, and collection instructions, because there's no way
you can collect anything without proper instructions. It's from
series 2, but I've never seen a series 1. Actually, I've found this
one in a toy store, and I can't
remember seeing any of these or any other parts of the series ever.
In fact, that store was the only one that even carried them in the first place,
so I simply had to purchase one, no matter what the cost, which was ... okay, I guess.
But never mind. Contains a lion. No, it probably doesn't. I still have no
clue what this icon is for. I've seen it on several recent blind bags, but
honestly, I don't have the slightest idea what it's good for.
Does it warn of a lion? Is the bag for lions? What the ***?
This bag is from Luxembourg, made by "Spin Master", a company I've never heared of.
"Warning: Don't apply sticker to skin."
Yeah, no, that doesn't look like a wise choice indeed. Right!
Let's see what's inside, and I really, really hope for Mike Wazowski.
He's the only one of the entire gang I actually care for,
but I bet I won't get him, but instead, I'll probably get ...
this guy, or whatever. We'll see!
Aaaaand ...
Oh, that's a lot. Christ, what is this?
Okay ...
Well, he doesn't look bad at all. I remember him, he's from one of the ...
eh ...
from the fraternity houses, unfortunately I can't remember the name.
Looking good!
Maybe a bit much text on his back,
tiny little numbers on the back of his head, what is this good for anyway?
Stand here ... it doesn't even stand, or wait ... good!
The collection instructions, oh yeah.
We've also got a sticker of this guy.
Looks quite like him, nice.
And the collection leaflet, screaming "Collect them all!"
which of course we won't do.
Would have been slightly more useful if they
wrote which one's who ... ah!
It seems like there are three series already - as I said, I've
only seen this one and that's series 2 -
and some of them are in all series, like Mike
Wazowski, who I unfortunately didn't pull, or in just one series.
"Each figure sold separately, subject to availability!" Who'd have imagined!
That's good to know!
And ... good Lord: "Adult supervision advised!"
"The item inside this package may vary from"
"the photographs and/or illustrations."
Yes, they definitely do, as I proved.
Everything that was on the back is on here again, including the lion.
What else can I say about this? Not much, which is too bad.
Well, they do have some nice figures in these.
I'd liked the crab as well.
Yeah, I'd have liked that.
As for the rest ...
Oh, they also have a separate "scary" version, which looks
even better! And here they are as school kids, great!
Looks like I've got the bad one, and unfortunately, I only have one bag
because the price was high and I didn't want to overdo it.
That's really too bad.
Anything else, except that I'm a bit miffed about what I've got here ... except ... well.
He's actually quite nice and worthy of The Shelf.
Yeah, he'll ascend to The Shelf.
It's the right thing to do.
See you next time!
