A retired engineer has successfully claimed industrial illness compensation after years
of working in conditions that were thick with asbestos dust.
73 year old Fred Penn was employed byWorcester Engineering in the 1970s, before its purchase
by Bosch in 1992 and spent his days assembling wall mounted boilers, which included regularly
handling asbestos sheets.
As a result of this Fred has now been diagnosed with mesothelioma an incurable cancer which
affects the lung lining and is linked to the dangerous material which was prevalent in
a range of industries before its deadly nature was fully understood.
Fred's case highlights the importance of pursuing industrial illness compensation before the
disease claims the life of the victim as it affords them comfort and ensures that their
family is catered for. If asbestos related illness is a concern for you or your family
