Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2006 Mazda 5 - Etrailer

Today on a 2006 Mazda 5 we're are going to install part number 24773 from Draw-Tite. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed in the vehicle. Next we'll give you some measurement to help you out in selecting some accessories such as the cargo carrier or a bicycle carrier. From the center of the hitch pin opening to the edge of the bumper we are looking at 3-1/2 inches. From top of our receive opening down to the ground we are looking at 13-1/2 inches. Now I'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed on the vehicle.I'll need to enlarge the two holes that are on the bumper structure this one on the passenger's side and this one on the driver's side. We'll use a half inch pit to enlarge the holes. When testing the bolt well the warp will be really close fit you can probably pull it through. However, it will be easy on yourself it drills up to 9/16 and that'll give you plenty of room to pull it through to get still tighten up. Now try your bolt leader but it will be wholly drilled and off the edge of the bumper. We'll take a block we'll push it into place then we'll thread the bolt on to the bolt leader.
