We are in Japan to talk to you about a novelty that will soon arrive to us.
Observe these strange stickers.
On chopsticks, on the newspapers, on the bus, on skyscrapers, they are already found everywhere.
They are called QR, which stands for quick response, which signifies immediate response.
They were invented by the Japanese Center of Research "Denso-Wave"
and they are super barcodes which will be able to read with our cameras or cellular phones
All it will take in order to decipher them, will be to download a small software from the internet.
These codes contain a large amount of information,
phone numbers, links to internet sites, already have arrived to the United States and to Northern Europe, and they use them for purposes other than commerical ones.
Look at what they invented in Germany.
Kids use them for games, an entertaining and a bit mysterious way to leave messages on lightpoles, on ATMs, and newspaper stands.
Someone here in Japan has even begun to wear them
and walk around the streets with t-shirts that display the coded messages
Keep watch. In future they will be everywhere.
...but seriously everywhere!
