Hi, my name is Lauren, and I'm here to share with you, who invented the hairdryer. The
hair dryer was first thought of, and invented in 1890, in France, by a man named Alexander
Godefoy. He actually simulated the vacuum, and what the vacuum does, by sucking the air
out, and sucking up dirt. However, they do not yet know how to make it into a hand held
device, so it really didn't go very far, and nobody actually used the hairdryer, because
it was about as heavy almost, as a vacuum was. It was very awkward to use, very heavy,
and it exerted way too much energy, in order for you to actually use it. Between 1920 and
1925, the first hand held dryer, was actually put out on the market. It was lightweight,
portable, it was easy to use, and then that's when the big theme of hair dryers actually
started. The first, were on the market in 1920, and 1925. They still simulated what
was the vacuum, but instead of actually sucking air up, they blew air out, in order to help
dry, and over the years since then, we have increased our technology, and we have gotten
even now more sophisticated forms of hair dryers, and hand held blow dryers, and that
is who invented the hand dryer.
