When it comes to shoes, New York City has a ton of options. Not only are there so many
different neighborhoods to go shopping in, there are huge stores dedicated to nothing
but shoes. Saks famously opened their shoe floor a few years ago that has its very own
zip code. So, if you are interested in going somewhere and not having to look anywhere
else, and maybe you've got a little bit of a budget or you're not too worried about it
at least, go to Saks. They've got everything. They've got sneakers. They've got flats. They've
got heels. Again, it's going to be a little bit more on the pricey side, but they have
all the different designer brands that you might want and all in one place. If you're
looking to shop a little bit more conservatively, you could try something like DSW which is
in Union Square and is sort of all those name brands that you love and no shortage of styles,
but at a discount price. This means they might be a season or two old, but in shoes that's
not a big deal. And the great thing is, they have a huge variety of sizes as well. So,
you're not a sample sale where you might be stuck with one size. But, at DSW you'll see
that they have styles and then they have every single size. Another option is to walk around
different neighborhoods and maybe just look for boutiques where you like the clothes.
They probably sell shoes as well. My favorite pasttime on a Saturday is just walking around
Lolita and looking in the little boutiques. And it's great to see shoes that are maybe
a little more creative or a little more one of a kind. Again, you might have some problems
with sizing because a lot of these boutiques don't stock in a wide variety, but it's a
really cool way to see different styles. It may be something that you're not used to seeing.
And especially because there's nothing better than coming back from New York and saying
I found this pair of shoes and they are being, they're so unique to you and it means no one
else can buy them.
