Cameron Diaz describes her marriage to Benji Madden as ‘a doubled-edged sword’.
CAMERON Diaz has described her marriage to Benji Madden as a “double-edged-sword”.
The 43-year-old actress appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show to took to promote her second
book The Longevity Book, and revealed some home-truths about married life.
“I do think that marriage, when you can grow with someone, it’s very important,”
she said on the show. “Someone asked me, ‘What’s your favourite
thing about being married?’ and I said, ‘I just learned so much about myself. I
didn’t know these things. I would have never known them if I didn’t have my husband to
help me.’” She admitted the revelation was always a good thing.
“They said, ‘What’s the worst thing about being married?’” Diaz continued.
“’Well, I learned all these things about myself that I wish I didn’t know. And I
wouldn’t have learned them if I didn’t get married.’ “So it is like this double-edged-sword.
But I am so grateful for it.”
It isn’t the first time the actress has shown how smitten she is for her hubby Madden,
having written the rocker a dedication in the preface of her self-help book.
“I never knew what love was until I found you,” the preface reads.
“How did I ever live without your love, your friendship, your brilliant mind, your
genius sense of humour, and your enormous, loving, beautiful heart?”
“Thank you for being my best friend, my teacher, my partner in life. You inspire me
every day with your courage and devotion. Thank you for all the support and encouragement
in this book and everything in life. I love you forever and ever.”
The Longevity Book is the follow-up to The Body Book, which the actress released in 2013.
