Dahi Vada is a very delicious and mouth watering chaat recipe
Today I'm going to make Dry Fruits stuffed Urad Dal Dahi Vada
Let's see the ingredients required for making Dahi Vada
For making this we will need
Washed - Urad Dal 1/2 cup
Almonds - 7
Resins - 35
Cashew nuts - 7
Coconut - 1 inch, chopped
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tbsp
Chaat Masala - Cumin powder (1/2 tsp) + Black pepper powder (1/2 tsp) + Black salt (1/4 tsp)
Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Sweet & Sour Chutney - 1 cup

Yogurt - 2 cup, whipped
Oil for frying
Lets start making Dahi Vada
First wash both the Dal and soak it overnight
Soak in water around 6 times the volume of dal
After soaking, it has increased in volume.
Also soak almonds, cashew nuts and coconut overnight and finely chop them
Now we will grind it into a smooth paste
Paste should be thick and smooth. Use only a little water while grinding.
Take out the paste into a plate
Add asafoetida
Whip the paste for 5 to 6 minutes until it is light and soft
Whipping the batter will make our vadas soft and fluffy
Our batter is ready, Turn on the gas and let the oil heat
Take about 1 litre of water in a large bowl, add 1 1/2 tsp of salt into it and mix
We will place the vadas into this water after frying
Take some water in a bowl, wet your fingers
Now take some batter and flatten it into a circular disk with your fingers
Place some chopped almonds, cashew nuts, coconut and resins in the center
Take some more batter and cover & seal the stuffing
Wet your finger, and stick some cumin seeds over the vada
Now place the vada into oil
Similarly make other vadas too
Fry them on medium flame
Fry until they are nice golden brown
Flip the vadas often while frying
Some vadas are done, take them out into a plate
Place vadas into salted water
I will add some water to make its consistency a little thin
Now add all the dry fruits
Add cumin seeds
Mix well
These vadas are also as delicious as stuffed one
Take some batter and place it in oil
Similarly make all the vadas
Fry them until golden brown, flipping them often while frying
These are turned into golden brown, now turn off the gas and take them out into a plate
Soak the vadas in water. Let them soak in water for at least 1 hour
Its been 1 hour, let us check the vadas
These vadas have turned softer and fluffy.
Squeeze the vadas to remove the extra water and place them into yogurt
Similarly squeeze out extra water from other type of vadas too
Soak vadas in yogurt as per requirement, and refrigerate rest of the vadas
Let them soak in yogurt for 4 to 5 minutes
Its been 5 minutes, take out vadas into a plate
Pour a little more yogurt
Pour sweet & sour chutney
Sprinkle some salt as needed
Sprinkle some chaat masala
Sprinkle red chilly powder
Dahi Vada Chaat is ready
Dahi Vada Chaat is ready
It is very delicious
You can make it for your party or on festivals
You can serve it as a side dish with lunch or dinner
