Hi there, I'm Tim Priebe with T&S Web Design in Oklahoma City. Today we're going to talk
about why it's important for every company to have a newsletter, an email newsletter.
Believe it or not every company actually needs a website. Yes, I have talked to a couple
of people in my years in business that a website was not a perfect fit for. That's ok. An email
newsletter, however, is a great fit for any company. Doesn't matter if you already have
a Facebook page, a Twitter account, a LinkedIn following, you need an email newsletter. Why
do you need an email newsletter? Any one of those other services are completely under
that companies control. At any point Facebook could pull down your page, your companies
page, or for that matter it could be hacked. At any moment your Twitter account could be
pulled for any reason if Twitter thinks it's necessary. Those are the terms of your agreements
with those companies. However a newsletter, actually will let you at any point export
your contact list so you have all of those email addresses available to you. So let's
say your Facebook account got hacked and someone completely killed your page. It was gone,
down, nothing you could do about it. Worst case, you could create a brand new page, go
to your email newsletter and invite all of those people to like your page again. You'd
lose some of your headway, but you would be able to gain some of it back, through the
email newsletter. You could also export the addresses from your email newsletter, with
most providers, on a regular basis. So again, ultimately, even the email newsletter company
is not under your control, but you can export those addresses on a monthly, every-other
month basis and you'll have those available to you. So that's why every company really
needs a newsletter, so that they can keep track of all their contacts and people that
