>> I work at Augusta National Golf Club
as the Horticulture graduate.
I have various projects that I have going right now,
from flower care for regular season and for tournament,
tree care, pruning, fertilization,
regular maintenance.
I use my degree every day, whether it's scouting
for pests or trying to figure out what plants to plant
in different locations, diagnosing plant diseases,
trying to figure out fertilizers for turf grasses.
I started out my college career as interior design.
And as my classes got further on, I decided I didn't want
to do that, that I didn't want to be inside all the time.
And in Horticulture I can be outside and be hands-on.
I enjoyed the whole experience of being
at the University of Georgia.
To make the best out of a college experience,
you should get involved in as much as you can.
In the summers of 2004 and 2005, I went to Europe
and traveled around with Dr. Smalley and did garden tours
and joined clubs, go on trips, go out and meet
as many people as you can.
Because that's really what makes college the most fun.
