Hello everybody. How are you? My name is Tobías Rusjan
I'm the director of Doorways, a Survival Horror game from Argentina.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can watch here the video trailer.
A month ago we got approved in Steam.
To enter in Steam we needed to get a lot of votes
in what is called Greenlight, a system from Steam which is used to approve the indie games today
We got all votes thanks of your help.
So, this video is dedicated to all the people who voted for us
and to all the "youtubers" who helped us to promote our campaign.
This video is specially dedicated to them.
Hi everybody! How are you? Welcome back!
We're here playing a game called Doorways, but this game is from a studio based in Argentina.
Give me light, give me light, here we go.
Right, let's continue moving forward... No! It turned off, it turned off!
Let's run, let's run, let's get right there.
That sound!
I can't see anything, I can't see anything at all.
Hello, hello. How is it going? Nice to meet you.
Ha! How you see that, Laurita?
You motherf**
Hey, Laurita! I'm sorry, I'm sorry...
Uh, and I also need to get back, right?
Damn, everything is dark.
It's so dark.
There's people over the spikes. People shouldn't be over the spikes.
The first one was Thaiel, better known as Alfredito.
He is one of the most popular youtubers from our country, Argentina.
We gave him a version of the game, one very basic and buggy.
But that was what we have at that moment.
He showed it on his channel.
And doing so, a lot of votes and people came and helped us with their thumb ups.
Then, a couple of months later, the game virtually moved across the Cordillera de los Andes to get to Chile
to the hands of Cristian Moreno, better known as Xoda.
Wow! What's up, ladies?
Welcome to this, called Doorways. It's a game created by a "trasandino" friend.
Hope we have a nice playing with your game, Tobías.
Because, if not, I will envelope it
and I will put it in your assh***
I can heard something, like someone is coming when I get there. There's no way I go forward.
Shhhh...
Oh s***!
As you can see, mmmm... ha, looks like the game has started, yes, it has started
Oh! I'm so pro!
You son of a b***!
Xoda helped us a lot with all the votes, so cheers to Xoda from Chile
and for all the people from Chile and latinoamerica who came from him.
A couple of months later the game traveled, once again virtually talking, across the Atlantic to get to Spain
to the hands of Alvaro Herrero, better known as Town
Hello everyone, welcome to iTownGameplay.
Very important, very important, a new game, Doorways.
Regards to Tobías who got in contact with me.
Which relics do I have? Oh, my God! I have a naked Slenderman.
Born: London, England, 1962.
Profession: Professor of "hysteria"
Ha ha, of "history", not of "hysteria".
There's a lot of light right here. Ah!
Creators of Doorways, thanks a lot for your copy of the game. With love.
Was really nice Town. He also gave us full support to our campaign in Greenlight.
So I sent you a hug to him too (Town, Álvaro), from here, from Argentina to Spain
and to all the people from Spain who also supported us. A big hug.
Also in Europe, the game went to Italy where two very popular youtubers from there played it:
Luke and Favij TV.
¡$%!
I swear that I'm now going to enter again, I was just invited..
A big hug to them too who supported us, and to all the people in Italy ofcouse. A hug.
Also thanks to Gabriel and Mariana from the channel baixakijogos from Brazil.
And to Azhar Amien "Tody" from the channel eGamerZA from, Sudafrica.
Sorry, guys, we lose that part in the recording :(
But thanks to you too for your support :)
And now?
Damn...
(singing)
Oh, no! S***!
Dammit...
We kept in touch with Alfredito and there was a contest to travel to the E3,
which is a huge video game event at the United States.
We did some kind of campaign, he did it with his friend Nicolás Morinelli.
And we got enough votes to travel to Los Angeles to assist the event.
During the E3 we got the chance to meet a lot of awesome people,
from those, there was Rubén Doblas, better known as El Rubius.
Hi there, creatures from The Lord. We're here today in Doorways.
The funny thing was that I met the creator at the E3 and he told me:
"Hey buddy, you have to try this game. I follow all your videos and I really wish you can play this game to make it popular".
Let's see...
Oh, God!!
Oh Lord... I like it, I like this puzzles. I like them!
Oh, God! Hello. Don't go, man, the party has just started.
No, no, I got in the darkness...
Ahhh! What the f*** is that?
It was amazing to meet El Rubius there.
I knew he was going to be there, I was told about it but I wasn't able to find him.
And then he went right to my side. It was awesome, he was really cool. I gave him a hug.
I gave him a CD with a version of Doorways from that moment. He took it to Spain, played it and uploaded it
and that also helped us to show our game across the world, because he is very popular there.
Also at E3, we met Mari from Smosh Games.
We also gave her the game.
And then, a couple of months later, she played it with his friend at Smosh Games on their channel.
Hey guys! Welcome to this episode of Super Mari Fun Time.
Sohinki and I are going to play a game that I picked up at E3,
from a guy named Tobias. And he developed this game.
And it's called Doorways.
Apparently it's a light colored game about unicorns and rainbows.
- Oh! That's awesome! It's now what it looks like on screen. - It's not.
Ah! You son of a b***
I wanted just to look like where we have been, just in case we miss something. It gets really dark in here...
Ah!
Ah, there's dead bodies on spikes.
Puzzles...
Ah! I'm so freaking done with this game, Sohinki.
Ha ha. Oh, my God!
So best regards to Mari and to all the people from Smosh Games for helping us to show the game.
With all this help we moved forward a lot in Greenlight, it was amazing.
But, at the same time, we still needed a lot more. There're thousands of games competing in Greenlight, so it was really hard to get visible.
Then, a Sunday in the morning I received a mail that said "A promotional opportunity"
It wasn't spam
It was about Felix, better known as PewDiePie.
How is it going, "bros"? My name is PewDiePie
And welcome to Doorways. It looks creepy as f***ing hell just be looking the intro, honestly,
That's right, that's right...
Begone! Yeah, you are not so cool now...
Ohhhhh!
We're fine...
Ahhhh! We're not f***ing fine! What the f***!
Holy s***... We're so f***...
Oh! What the f***?
Ahhhh! I f***ing knew it!
Another way? But she was so hot.
Okey, another note. Cool.
Ha ha ha! "Bravo"!
"Brofist" from Argentina.
I love that.
It was really emotive to receive that e-mail and then watch PewDiePie's video playing our game,
knowing how many people was watching it around the world.
A lot of people went to our page to vote for us.
So, a big hug to Felix or, should I said, a "brofist".
We have been in Greenlight during about nine months and we finally got approved.
For the ones who want to get the game, I let you the links in the description.
You can also find it at Steam, Desura and other pages.
With the sales at Steam we are finally recovering all the money.
That's why we are so glad and we wish to have news about the next chapters of the game soon
which we want to have ready during 2014.
"Totally thanks!"
"Totally... thanks!" Gustavo Cerati September, 1997
See you, people.
Give your Thumbs Up to the video if you like it
You can also subscribe to our channel
And share the video in your social medias
Thank you :)
We hope Alfredito play the next part of the game. I don't know if he is going to do so...
What do you think? Is he going to play it?
(Alfredito) "As you wish, buddy."
