Hello everyone. My name is Tasha and welcome to Heart of Tarts.
Today we will be continuing our Halloween series with a Pokemon Poke Ball Tart.
I know Pokemon Poke Ball, that is not exactly Halloween, but a lot of people do dress up as Pikachu
and as other Pokemon and a the characters, the "Gotta catch 'em all" guys. The fighters.
For Halloween.
So it kind of fits in, plus Pokemon X and Y is coming out today and everybody is making Pokemon stuff.
And I want to be with the popular crowd.
I am not the biggest Pokemon fan, but I watch these guys Shep689 and Will is a huge Pokemon fan.
And I secretly want to have their babies. How do you tell a gay couple, "Like hey, can I have your babies?"
Is that inappropriate. Because I do.
Moving on, let's just make this tart and get on with it.
We are going to start by making our tart crust. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Then to a food processor, add in four pitted dates along with 1/2 cup old fashion oats.
Grind that all together into a fine crumb.
Next we are going to add to the food processor 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon,
a whole cup of old fashion oats, 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and I am so happy to have my coconut oil back.
I kind of love it. Like a child. It is so wonderful. Oh coconut oil. Burp.
Anyway, and 1/4 cup almond. I really like that I am using almond milk instead of water now.
It adds a little extra creaminess to the crust. Instead of being drier it is more soft, like a soft oatmeal cookie.
Pulse the mixture to combine and then press it around a 9 inch tart pan.
Bake it for 15 minutes until it is brown and dry.
While that is cooling off we can make our filling. I promised you the other day that I would not make the avocado
and banana filling. Of course I am going to make it again, but I will give it a break for now.
Today I am going to make a strawberry-banana filling just by adding in 1/2 cup
hulled strawberries and along with one banana.
As you can see this banana is a little beat up. I have had it. It was in the refrigerator.
Which means it is nice and sweet so just throw it all in there.
Process it all in there and then spread it around your tart crust.
Now this may look a little thin, but I can tell by the texture if I refrigerate it for about 10 minutes
or just let it stand, the banana does this gel-gelatinous thing.
It is really weird but it makes it stiff enough to add toppings.
Now that I know it does that, I can plan for it. Instead of being surprised by wiggly gel stuff.
Like I used to be.
Now for our topping, I am going to thinly slice a banana and layer those on one side of the tart.
Then I am going to hull and half about two cups of strawberries and layer them on the other side of the tart.
So you have the bananas on one side, strawberries on the other side and raisins going right down the middle.
To create that black belt in the middle where the two separate and the little thing goes in and come out.
I don't know anything about Pokemon. I think I do know that though. Yeah.
To create the little dot in the middle, I am going to put one little slice of banana.
If I had more bananas I would have made it bigger and I would have put more raisins in the center,
because it has that little black dot in the middle, but I didn't plan well. So TA DA.
Here it is. I hope that all the Pokemon fans enjoyed this tart today, but especially Will and RJ.
But I can't wink either. I am so awkward.
Last note about shep689 and RJ, I was making this today and it reminded me of DaveyWavey's Cookies that he
made for you all the other day because I don't use sugar, or refined sugar, either.
Hopefully mine it a little bit more flavorful, but you get the picture.
If you like things full of fresh fruit, hopefully you will like this video.
If you really like my personality, which I don't know why you wouldn't cause it is adorable,
you will subscribe to my channel. And if you really care, share it with your friends.
Specially Will and RJ, because I love them.
