Age of Wisdom - “money is complicated”

Does money really make us happy? Yes. But no. Well, it depends. That’s a hard question to answer, but we gave it a shot by talking to both kids and older generations. We’ve found that during our money making years, in an effort to secure ourselves financially we’re missing out on other important things — mainly, life. In our “Age of Wisdom” series, we’ve set out to remind investors that the best returns aren’t just measured in dollars. I honestly don’t feel that you must have money to be happy. It can’t buy happiness. I know that. I beg to differ. It does. Not always. Money buys you happiness. I don’t think you can be happy without money. You need it. But you don’t need a lot of it. People have a hundred million, they want a billion. If you have a lot of money, as a billionaire you’d just be very anxious. I think there are a lot of miserable people who have a lot of money. Yeah. You know, I’ve been to 10 Super Bowls, and traveled the world and run marathons. But holding my first granddaughter…I mean, I don’t think I was ever happier. The most happiest thing is when I’m with my brother. You see her walking down the aisle, when we first got married. I like to pop my brother in a Cinderella costume. People should die with no money and the last check they make out to the undertaker should bounce.
