Tio Spanish, learn Spanish
Hello ladies and gentleman... and everyone else.
Welcome, today I am going to teach you the way to introductions.
The sentences that you need to say in order to introduce yourself to a stranger.
There are two ways of introduction, the formal and informal introduction.
The informal one is the most used in the daily life
where the second person is used, which means that we talk to the other person using "tĂș" or "vosotros".
- Hello, how is it going? I am Tio Spanish, and you, what is your name?
- Hello Tio Spanish, my name is Lola. - Nice to meet you, Lola, where do you come from?
- I come from Sevilla, and you? - I come from Madrid.
Another way to introduce yourself to someone is the formal one.
It is used in order to introduce ourself to an older person or to someone we consider more important.
- Good morning, sir, I am Pepito, and you, What is your name?
- Good morning, I am Tio Spanish, pleased to meet you. - Pleased to meet you too, sir.
Ah, these children. Since I older than him, he uses the respectful form, the "usted", with the third person.
Look who has just come in the bar, the king don Juan Carlos! Now I need to meet him!
- Good morning your majesty, my name is Tio Spanish and it is an honour to have the chance to talk to you.
- Hello, good evening, pleased to meet you.
As you have heard, the king, who is very polite, also used the "usted" to answer me.
Even though he did not need to introduce himself, since he is very famous and all Spanish people already know him..
- Goodbye Tio Spanish, talking with you has filled me with pride and satisfaction.
- Goodbye your majesty, it has been a pleasure, take care.
How exciting! Today, thanks to you, I have met the king. I hope you have enjoyed the class.
I am glad to have met you. Take care, and see you next time.
