The Trumpet Shall Sound - Lyrics - George Frideric Handel
George Frideric Handel 23 February 1685 â 14 April 1759) was a German Baroque composer who spent the bulk of his career in London, becoming famous for his operas, oratorios, anthems and organ concertos. Born in a family indifferent to music, Handel received critical training in Halle, Hamburg and Italy before settling in London , and became a naturalized British subject in 1727. He was strongly influenced both by the great composers of the Italian Baroque and the middle-German polyphonic choral tradition.
The trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, andwe shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption andthis mortal must put on immortality. (I Corinthians 15:52-53)
