Overcoming Desire - Mastering the Dukes - Payment of Tharsys

My name is Vicente Garcia, owner and founder of the winery Pago de Tharsys. The images
you can see right now belong to the village where I was born: Los Duques.
Evidence is being uncovered that in village of Los Duques and its surroundings, vineyards
have existed since at least the VI Century B.C. The remains of an ancient winery, which
is said to be one of the first wineries in Europe, has been found in this area.
This house belonged to my great grandfather, and as you can see, it represents the great
struggle and harsh times that my ancestors have suffered over the years
and how they both as a family and as a nation, we have all faced over the years.
With the name Dominio de los Duques we wish
to transmit this great fighting spirit and never-say-die attitude.
In order to achieve these great wines I have had to draw on
the memories of my ancestors and of my childhood.
Without doubt they have helped me to produce this fantastic,
approachable and affordable wine.
What really matters is not to overcome everybody else,
but to overcome and understand yourself.
