Hi. This is Cable for Expert Village. In this clip, I'm going to talk about some of the
materials and equipment you will use to digitally ink and paint your drawn animation. First
of all, you'll need your drawn frames, on paper. You will also need some pencils or
inking pens and an eraser. You will need some sort of computer with inking and painting
software. And there's a variety out there. You can go with the big ones, the big names,
or you can search for some tools online. Some of which are even free. It just takes a little
time to research. You could also use, as an alternate input device, a graphics tablet
and a stylus. This is a great alternative to drawing with the mouse, which is very challenging.
I can't do it, some people can. That's great. I prefer the stylus and the tablet, which
really mimics the natural movement of drawing right on paper. You also need a peg bar to
hold your animation paper in place, when you put it on the scanner, which you also need.
It doesn't have to be a fancy scanner, one that can get high enough resolution when you
capture your images. And we'll talk about that a little bit later.
