My name is Stephen and this is my story.
I’m 19 years old and I’m just a normal teenage. Unfortunately though, for the last
three and a half years I’ve been battling cancer and recently my disease has been described
as incurable by doctors.
I’ve been dedicating a lot of my own time towards fundraising and in about a year now
I’ve raised about £500,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Another thing I have been doing recently is sharing my experiences with as many people
as possible. This has been to a crowd of 4,000 people at the O2 Arena in London or just a
smaller group. The main message I want to spread is that life is for living.
My adventure started my making a social platform called Stephen’s story. On it I included
a list of 46 things that I wanted to complete.
Number one on my list was to raise £10,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust. Other things include
crowd surfing in a rubber dingy, a skydive and I ended up getting a troll doll tattooed
underneath my armpit.
Another thing was to drum in front of a huge crowd. I ended up doing this in front of 95,000
people live at Wembley. Since starting my adventure I think I’ve inspired more people
than I could ever have imagined.
I’ve had a lot of kind comments where people say I’m helping them. I just feel obliged
to continue, it makes me happy to feel like I’m making a difference.
