Okay, folks, in this clip I'm going to teach you how to draw a bouquet of roses. And we're
going to start by drawing the, I guess, the base of the vase, and work our way up from
there. So, draw a nice little, round, half circle shape that kind of makes it's way up.
Just like that. That'll be the bottom of the vase, right there. And now the tricky part.
We're going to come up here, and we're going to start drawing petal-like round, slash,
square shapes. And the thing you're going to want to do is start with the ones that
are sorta along the outer edge, and draw them in a....almost like a half circle with a few
little points to it. Sort of a pattern, like that. Gonna come up here. Draw a few kind
of along the outer edge, like this, maybe one more down here. Just kind of give the....this
is going to be the outer line of the bouquet. So going to come in and just draw...they look
like circles with little points to them. Little, little thorns kind of coming out here and
there. Now we're going to work our way inward, starting with the one on the bottom. I guess...six..you
would say we're working our way around. We'll do...I'll draw two that are a little bit more
cloud shaped. There won't really be any spikes on this one, 'cause it's all about perspective
here. These one's will be a little bit more round, and not so jagged, but look kind of
like little puffy clouds there, or popcorn kernels. Then we'll come in here in the middle,
and we're going to draw two in the middle just to fill up the space. And one thing you're
going to want to do is kind of combine a little bit of both of these two designs into this
one, you're kind of want to draw 'em fluffy along the bottom, and you're going to do one
little jagged point along the top. Something like that. Come in like this and do the same
thing over there. All right. So now we got....these are going to end up being our roses, so what
we'll do now is we're going to go in and start to add the detail, the petals. Now, we've
already drawn the outlines of 'em, and that's where you really want the attention to be.
So now as you kind of come in and start drawing the petals, make the strokes kind of light,
and then follow a....sort of a pattern where you work your way in, and really just visualize
the different petals as they, you know, form the inner part of the rose. But then, also
keep your lines very, very light here 'cause you don't want to call that much attention
to each individual petal. And the best way to go about doing this is to, especially for
the ones on the outer edge first, is to take the two little jagged points and draw leaves,
petals coming up to meet each one, just like that. Draw the outer portion of the middle
petal by kind of drawing a little...little circle, a half circle that follows the outer
edge. And then I'm going to come in here and draw a few little lines like that just to
show that the flower has a little bit of depth to it. Do that one here as well. Add a little
more detail. The ones in the middle should have just a little bit more detail than the
ones on the outer edge, 'cause they're the ones that are facing us directly. Now these
bottom ones are a different story entirely. This is going to be an example to kind of
show off your a....the inner workings of the roses. So kinda, just kind of slowly work
your way inward drawing smaller and smaller until you get to the very center, just like
that. Gonna draw lines that kind of follow the ones on the outer edge, so just work your
way in, getting smaller, until you're all the way in, just like that. And that'll be
your rose there. Now to top it off, we're going to add a few little leaves, 'cause,
obviously these roses weren't just, you know, picked without any stems or leaves attached
to them. So kind of come in here and fill in the blank spaces with just some lines that
make it look like leaves. A little....or you can add some green if you decide to color
this in. I would recommend it because roses aren't obviously supposed to be red. Draw
the lower portion of the vase. Some stems kind of coming down like that. And then add
some detail to the vase. A little reflection there, maybe a little water. Show the stems
kind of coming down in the middle there. And there you have it, a nice bouquet of roses.
