What inspires me is healthcare is my passion. I feel as though that's what I'm put here
to do; that's my purpose in life, is to be a healthcare provider, and that's what drives
me and that's what motivates me to be here. The person that referred me, I had an opportunity
to work alongside him, while I was working in Birmingham. I was really impressed with
how astute this particular nurse was, and upon his relocation here to Atlanta, he highly
recommended DeKalb Medical. And upon interviewing here with the Interventional Radiology Department,
I was highly impressed and it was a no-brainer. I would definitely refer someone to work here
at DeKalb Medical. Like I alluded to earlier, metal sharpens metal. I mean, you have some
very astute nurses and healthcare providers here.
Prior to accepting the position in Interventional Radiology, I worked as a trauma burn intensive
care unit staff RN. It requires a ton of autonomy, and you have to work well under pressure.
I would say that those particular skills helped me to be a perfect fit for the interventional
radiology setting. You have patients that are coming in; some of them are unstable,
that's why they have to have these procedures done and you have to be quick on your feet.
The staff here at DeKalb Medical has been very helpful, and they also challenge you
to think. That's one thing I really enjoy about you know critical care nursing, and
especially interventional radiology. One of the things that I enjoy most about
being here at DeKalb Medical is the care and compassion that the healthcare staff conveys
to the patients. My name is Keyenno Patrick and I'm proud to
be a nurse at DeKalb Medical.
