Charmed - Behind the magic - Charmedbos

My name is Wayne Adams. Some of you may know me as Willowswarlok which is a name I've been using online since I was 17, but I'm growing up so I'm trying to move away from that name. I'm a Prop Maker, I studied Character Creation, Technical Effects and Prop Making at University and I've received a Bachelor of Arts Degree so I'm trying to put that to good use. Obviously being a fan of this show this is the one path that seemed logical, creating props and replicas from Charmed. My name is Ben, I'm one half of Charmed BOS. I manage the website side of things, I pack up orders, I do the social media, Twitter and Facebook, interacting with people. Charmed BOS was created last year when Wayne came to me and said "Do you want to make a Book of Shadows" and I said "Yeah, why not?". Looking online we saw official figures, but there wasn't an official replica of the Book of Shadows, none of the key props from the show were made into real props. So we decided to create our own. We tried to find props I know I would love and Ben would love and then we find ways that we can realistically make these. For example with the Scrying Crystal, we found episodes where they used it. We took screencaps, we drew sketches, measured it, sculpted it and then we created moulds. So each part of the Scrying Crystal you may have bought is created by hand. We're always asking for suggestions on Twitter and Facebook for what props to make next and we're always listening to people. We love hearing feedback from the fans and watching videos on YouTube to see what people like about our products so we can make more. We were fortunate enough to exhibit at the London Film and Comic Con earlier in the year. Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause were both at the show and they saw our book first hand. They couldn't believe how good it looked. They said "It looked like it had just walked off the set" which is such a huge deal to us because we spent so many hours putting this book together. To get feedback like that is just the best thing you could ever ask for. The Book of Shadows that we offer is made from genuine Italian leather. The Triquetra is embossed with the same leather and we have our own technique for embossing, it's then hand painted. Our book is also postbound, the same as the one on the show so pages can be added, removed and changed around. We've spent many hours watching the DVD's, researching on the internet to try and get the size, the shape, the colour, the feel, the aging, the finishing of the Book of Shadows correct onto our replica. An average day at Charmed BOS starts once our day jobs finish. We pack up orders that we receive during the day. We try to get those sent out as soon as possible because people order from all over the world, so we try to hurry things along a bit by being as helpful as possible. Charmed BOS is ever growing so we're always researching and developing new products. Sometimes it'll be the first thing we talk about in the morning or the very last thing before we go to bed at night. We're always giving it 110% to try and produce products and try and keep the Charmed spirit alive. Our products will be available as long as we have demand for it, so if you still want our products let us know and we will continue to make them.
