You know, food. We can throw it away.
And there are *** running in office.
And there are police beating people up--yet we need to get "over there"
and fight terrorism. We can ignore our problems and go deal with others'.
It's a load of (slang for malarkey).
So, I wrote a song. Hope you like it--he' it go'.
Ignite a new way . . .(intro riff begins as a hush falls over the crowd)
Same old ***, different day.
Monotony sprinkled with a promise of change...
"duty for tomorrow", but tomorrow stays the same.
same ol' experience driven through your brain
..making you want to Ignite a new way...
...wondering "what happened to all my yesterdays".
I'll ignite a new way--but I don't know how!
Why wait for someone else, when you can do it yourself?
Why wait from the safety of their shelves?
No way!
Ignite a new way!
You've gotta BE THE CHANGE THAT you WANT TO SEE MADE!
(music speeds up and goes heavy)
(Nate proceeds to tear *** with a solo)
(still tearing ***)
(crowd yells "wooo!)
Better to do something that to let them get away!
But terrorists live in the United States
with the Pigs and The Wall Street ***!
there's cops that want to re-arrange your face!
and all the food we throw away!
The enemy wears my face and yours--
it makes me wanna say--
we gotta make a new way!
Make a new change!
Be the change that you want to see made!
Why wait for someone else, when you can do it yourself?
Why wait from the safety of their shelves?
we'll ignite a new way!
