For over 70 years
Concordia has given opportunities for people all over Europe
to work on hundreds of farms both large and small throughout the UK.
Our aim is to provide you with opportunities to experience our culture
improve your English and of course the chance to save money
to help you achieve your goals in life.
One of the most common crops grown on Concordia farms is strawberries.
They're grown in poly tunnels or greenhouses
either on the ground or in tabletop systems.
You'll be picking slowly at first
but you'll have plenty of training and support.
Your farm understands you need time to build up speed so stick at it
and if you have any questions or problems just ask
your farm will be happy to help.
With hard work after two weeks you should be picking to standard
but remember that quality's important too.
You'll need to be careful not to bruise the delicate fruit
focus on the size color and condition of the strawberries you pick.
You'll work as part of a team and your supervisor will help you
to work in the most efficient way possible - so listen to their advice and keep learning.
You'll need to recognize what's good and what's not.
Your farm's reputation depends on the ability to supply quality produce
to the right place at the right time
and your role here is vital.
Farm work is demanding but it can also be rewarding.
Concordia has many people who choose to return year after year
often to the same farms.
We hope this film has given you a good introduction.
Each farm is different and your agent or Concordia
can provide lots of further information and advice.
We're all here to help you to make the best decision
and get the most out of your Concordia work placement.
