As SEOs we know that a little creative thinking goes a long way in using social media sites
to promote a business. In one way or another, these collaborative communities provide endless
opportunities for viral and word-of-mouth marketing. By integrating social media marketing
tactics with SEO best practice, social SEO uncovers new markets and opportunities, increases
subscribers and site visitors, and allows your business to be found by those in need
of your products or services. But the most important thing to remember when
putting together your social media strategy is to first LISTEN to what your community
wants. Listen first- It’s important to know who
you’re targeting and how your audience interacts with information to better tailor the message
for them. Which social networks do your readers spend time on? What information do they find
entertaining or informative? How do they share content? Answer these questions before progressing.
create the content next- Spend time creating and optimizing relevant, reader-centric digital
content. Don’t be limited to only text; diversify your content. Use video, images,
and polls to project your message and increase social sharing.
Finally… socialize a little- Make sure that your content is accessible. The easier your
posts can be found, the more they will be shared. Share your content on Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube , Google+ and LinkedIn where people with common interests interact and share.
And for virility, make it easy for consumers of your digital content to socially save,
share and submit your content to their networks.
Once you have done all of this, then you can measure the results , tweak, and repeat.
