Box Jumps - We're going to take a ply metric exercise now into the mix. Jonesy, do you
want to go ahead and show them the proper mechanics? Excellent, and then come on back
down. Each time that Jonesy is jumping up onto the box, first off, he's jumping and
he starts with his feet flat on the ground and he just gets on up. He lands on the box,
and he's landing on his heels, not on the balls of the feet but on his heels, so the
force will get absorbed into his glutes, into his hips. As he lands he's also bending in,
he's flexing in his hips, and he's also flexing in his knees as well. Then once he finishes
and absorbs the force, he does a full extension of the hips to come upright before he comes
back down. Of course you can come down a couple different ways. You can jump on; you can jump
off. You can jump on, stand up and then step off. There are a couple of variations that
you can use on this. You also can use, if you don't have a box like this, you can use
a step or a bench, or there's got to be something around that you can be a little creative on.
Those are box jumps.
