Performing a hard reset of your Samsung Blu-ray player can help troubleshoot issues and assist in updating.
Keep in mind that a hard reset will reset all system, network, and Smart Hub settings
and delete all user stored data.
Follow along to learn how to hard reset your device.
Before starting, make sure your Blu-ray player is powered on and that there is no disc in the player itself.
The display should read "No DISC".
Now make sure your television's source or input is correct, and your Blu-ray player is attached properly.
On your Blu-ray player, touch and hold the Stop button for approximately 8 seconds.
Please note: You cannot press and hold the Stop button on your remote to perform a hard reset
it must be on the player itself.
Your television will display "Resetting all settings to default values".
Now your Blu-ray player will automatically power off and reset.
Now you will need to perform the initial setup for your Blu-ray player.
With your Blu-ray remote, select your preferred language by pressing Enter.
Then select Next. Choose Start to begin setup.
You'll have the option to set up your wireless or wired network settings.
In this example we will choose Skip, to skip this process.
The option can be set up later.
Select the aspect ratio that matches your TV, and press Enter.
Note that usually 16:9 is for HDTVs, and 4:3 is for Standard definition.
Select Next. You'll see a summary of all completed settings.
Any settings not affected by the reset will not have checks by them.
The Smart Hub tab will also be grayed out if not affected.
Press OK. When you see the home menu, the reset is complete.
