Hi everyone, in this closing of 2013 we want to thank you all for all the work and effort
that you've been doing alongside TECHO and the families living in the slums across Latin
America. It's been a year filled with change and challenges for the organization, one which
we could not have faced the way we did without the support and hard work of each and every one of you.
Today, we have thousands of volunteers working with families living in slums in Latin
America and the Caribbean, we have organized communities, residents extremely involved
and empowered in the realities that affect them and that for us is the biggest reward
we can hope for as an organization. This year we still count over 160 million people living
in extreme poverty in Latin America, lacking the most fundamental rights that humans can
possess; that means that in 2014 we have to work even harder to build a just world, without
poverty, in which we can all hope to live.
I send you all a big hug and I hope that 2014 is a year filled with joy and a lot of work.
