Now that that's taken care of, Your Imperial Majesties, The Faeries of the Elements have some buisness they would like to take up with you today. Very well, what would you like to discuss? Your Majesties have been doing an admirable job of ruling all of Faery kind this year, but-- Yes? Um--you've been doing a very good job of ruling us all--but-- Well, what is it? We have a test for you! You have a what? We are invoking the ancient rite of Fortezuma which states we have the ability to test our rulers to make sure they possess the intelligence to rule all of Faery kind. YOU'RE WHAT? You can't do that! Tell them they can't do that, my dear. Well of course than can't DO that, it is a ridiculous notion. Balderdash. Poppycock. Buffoonery. Good one. Gurmok, tell them they can't do that. I'm afraid I'll have to consult the Book of Rules, Your Majesty, I won't be but a moment. If you fail to solve all of the challenges put forth by each Elemental Clan, you will have your powers stripped from you by having your crowns turned into water (Ya!) leaving you with wet heads! Or, or, we'll splinter your scepter so you can no longer hold onto it! Pull your hairs out, one by one! Make you read horrible books! Your wings will lose all their sparkle! Or, or-- I don't have an idea. But it'll hurt! Or, or we could put 'em in a big giant press and squish 'em and squish em' until all their powers ooze-- I'm very sorry your Majesty, I got caught up in the fun, uh, the heat of the moment. Well, did you find anything about this Forthemacallit in the Rule Book? Uh yes Your Majesty, and it's 'Fortezuma' and they can indeed invoke this rite. King Fortezuma ruled all of Faery kind long long ago. He wasn't a very popular ruler, a bit of a know-it-all. He created this rite so that his subjects could test his mental ablilities. He failed the very first challenge put forth to him and then was removed from power, though how his crown was stripped from him was never actually recorded. Now because the rule is still in the Rule Book it is still valid, therefore our current rulers must answer these challenges or be removed from power. See? We told you! And you can't have any help at all, you have to do it all by yourselves. Well I have no doubt that these challenges of ours ought to be no trouble at all, isn't that right my dear? Wait a minute-- Well, we may not be allowed magical help but this says nothing of mundane help. We can recieve help from the mortal guests if we so choose, to help us solve the challenges! What? You can't do that! Gurmok, tell them they can't do that! I'm afraid the Empress is correct. What?? It says here they are not allowed magical help but because it specifically says magical they are allowed help from non-magical persons. Aw, well that sucks! (mumbles of protest) Very well, as the right has been invoked we shall solve the challenges where might we find your little tests? Each elemental clan has a pavillion, and each elemental clan is keeping their specific challenges at their pavillions. Very well we shall visit these pavillions and see what puzzling puzzles you have put together for us; And we would like for all of you mortals to visit these pavillions with us and help us to solve these challanges as we would really love to have your help.
