Tree Pose. Stand tall with your chest lifted and shoulders pulled back. Stand next to a
chair for support, if needed. You can place your hands on your hips, or out to the side,
or bring your palms together in front of your chest if you feel stable enough. Lift one
of your legs, and place your foot on the inner calf of the other leg with the toes pointing
down, and the knee turned out as much as you can. If you lose your balance, just drop your
foot, regain your composure, and try again. To help keep your balance, look straight ahead,
or pick a spot in front of you on the floor to concentrate on. Hold this position until
you fatigue, or lose balance. Be sure your foot is fully touching the floor, and that
the opposite leg is only as high as you can hold while maintaining neutral posture. Continue
to breathe.
