Hi, this is Des from XenMedia Hosting and welcome to this Friday's video. We're goona look at "Mobile Sites". Soooo, if you've got a business
yourself or you work for a corporate, you must have a mobile website!
Now, as you can see in the picture here. Which one would one is more appealing? The one on the left?
Or, the one on the right?
this is a great one here
The one on the left is obviously the mobile site, and if you're going to use this on your mobile
See how the big buttons there are so easy to navigate
Whereas, the one on the right, you're gonna have to pinch and scroll. This is basically one of the things that Google came out with
yesterday I believe it was? Just showing you some
statistics of friendly sites, meaning you're more likely to buy.
Unfriendly, more likely to leave.
So, one of the criteria's is "site speed"
Loading time of your mobile website should be 5 seconds or less.
Big! mobile friendly buttons as you can see, that will take up the whole screen.
and it's really, really easy for you to navigate round. One of the other things you need to look at
is links to your company's social media site
media sites so if you've got a uh... a facebook page or a twitter page
you really want to think about having links to your site
and making them nice and large as well.
The next thing is "click to call" access to the phone the business
basically what this means is
what somebody doesn't want to do is to type in your number
you want to make it as easy as possible for them to actually call your business
or your website or the service you actually offer.
and the "tap to call" or the "click to call"
is one of the things that you really want to have is one of the on your site
to make it be a is it easy to navigate as possible. Ok, next on the list is
quick access to your business contact information
that's either your address or a map
so is really really easy to find your business if you're a bricks and mortar business
and the very last on your list is "Limited scrolling and pinching"
try and limit this to all your mobile sites.
Now, if you haven't got a mobile site, there's loads of places you can actually
find, somewhere to actually produce this for you.
If you haven't got your own webmaster, somebody that looks after your site. You can actually buy one off the shelf. It's really easy,
and what I'll do is, I'll put the links either in the description of this video
or I'll put it on my blog.
Alright, so this is Des from XenMedia Hosting.
hope you enjoyed this uh... this session of "Mobile Sites".
Make sure you get one!
