The Steps to Training

You may not know this yet but you probably need training to get that next great job. Brevard Workforce can help. But Brevard Workforce can only help. We can't take the steps for you. Yes, there is paperwork involved. You're going to have to dig into some records and come up with some answers It takes effot and like most paperwork it's not particularly fun. But being out of work isn't a game. A fact you've already learned. You need training and we're here to help, so get ready to step up, take some action, once you start you'll get it done. These are the steps to training. Step One, find a computer with internet access. We have some available if you stop by a career center. Surf over to Employ Florida Marketplace. Register. The wizard will ask you some questions and you answer them. If you get stuck, ask for help. Step Two come to a workshop. A Brevard Workforce expert will tell you exactly what you need to do to qualify for training and then you can find out where the workshops are being held by going online or by coming into a career center. How much easier does this need to be? Step Three. Fill out some paperwork. This is an application for workforce services Lots of "fill-in-the-blanks". Who are you? Where have you worked? Are you a veteran? That sort of thing. It's no harder than filling out paperwork at the doctor's office and just as important so make it happen. Step Four: meet with the Brevard Workforce expert. We call these folks "staffing specialists". She's going to be your new "BFF". Now let's say I'm a staffing specialist helping with Mike. I'm gonna go to bat for you find the possibilities, work out SNAFUs, basically be your advocate in the process. I appreciate your help. Ready for your aptitude assessment? You bet. Step Five Fill out some more paperwork. What type of job are you good at doing? What type of work best fits your personality? How would we know? We won't, unless you tell us. That is what an aptitude assessment will do. We can't get into a training program unless you take that step, And you wouldn't want us to. And that step, may help you get the dream job you never knew you wanted. Step Six Let us help you with a little stuff. Because there is no little stuff. How do you get to your training or school? What about child care? Who's going to pay for all of this? And if you get this far, we will pull out all the stops to make sure you get all the way to where you want to go. Step Seven Keep in touch. Yeah, we know, you're independent you're on your way it's smooth sailing from here but come on, we do this every day. And we can make sure that you don't run into any roadblocks or problems that you didn't even see coming. Besides, as a staffing specialist, who am I? Your BFF. And she wants to know how you doing. Really. Step Eight You get a new job. That's where all these training steps lead to. And we want to know all about it, in fact, we insist. You let us know when you're employed and your staffing specialist will check with you every now and then for the next twelve months. It's what friends do. Okay that's it. A few simple steps that can get you into a new job nothing to it, right? Of course not. Looking for work is work. Getting trained for the right job is work. Keeping it all together when life makes other demands is work But guess what? You can do it. And only you can do it.
