I was a bit of an underachiever in high school. I would do just enough to get by.
Coming to university was a reality check for me because I’m now paying for school.
I’m really interested in all my courses and I study really hard to get good grades.
I already speak English, French, and Vietnamese.
I decided to major in Spanish because it’s one of the most
widely spoken languages in the world and I really like the language.
I also have family in the States and if I move there after graduation,
I know that it’d be an asset for me to have.
The professors in the Spanish program are helpful, they really want you to succeed.
Plus you get to meet lots of interesting people along the way.
The Faculty of Arts is great because it allowed me to find what I want to do and who I want to be.
I liked the general first year Arts because it gave me the flexibility to pursue my interests
and I was surprised by the diversity of courses that I was allowed to take.
I’ve always wanted to be a teacher – and that still might be my goal.
I’m studying Spanish through Arts and Business
I like the combination because business is so universal.
It’s really going to help me for my career, whatever I choose to do.
