this david hackman staff had david packard dot com
welcome back to david packaged up a massive explosion has been reported
around four dollars nuclear facility the reports were initially just
flat-out denied by the iranian news agency i_r_s_ k
and uh... than they were
i guess she did say independently confirmed i don't i don't really know
what the term is here
uh... the times of london's israel correspondent shearer frenkel is
confirming it through her independent sources saying
an explosion is believed to have damaged iraq iran's for down nuclear facility
which is being used to enrich uranium israeli intelligence officials have told
the times sources in tel aviv said they thought the explosion happened last week
they're investigating reports that led to extensive structural damage in two
hundred workers being trapped inside so what i hear about the explosion that i
hear that arise denying that it even happened
i assume one of two things
i guess it was probably somewhat more likely that the other one it is
the u_s_ or israel bombed it
brendan and interest in making it seem like that's not the case
or number two
their there so incompetently carrying out research that they blew it up
themselves but that doesn't seem that likely right
uh... highly unlikely if these are the types of explosions and mishaps that you
should be happening places like this
uh... i soon this is israel's work
but and if it is israel's were we have uh... what was the israel statements
sources said that they thought the explosion happened last week
the israeli government is investigating reports so i think they're not really
making official statements about this
is this in the time now you think most likely iran will be prevented from
having a nuclear weapon that explosions just happen
well it's either going to be this or you know crippling economic sanctions the
worse than the ones that have already been put in place and a lot of
international player pressure
making them come to their senses but the reality is
if you agree that it's a huge risk to the entire world freer under have
nuclear weapons that this is probably the ideal way of doing it militarily in
the sense that no one dying uh... other than the people at least at these
nuclear research facilities potentially
yes in this case did anyone dot
i don't know what you can we have
joan rivers that were trapped but we don't know yet whether anybody dot rep
in any case we can say that if we have these facilities operating
far away from cities and where are you know innocent civilians are if the
workers are really the only casualties and i think the military a military
stamp i'm not saying morally whether it's right or not to do it it's probably
the best type of military
yes that there's no question that that's the way that the fuse people died the
question is what will be the uh... the international reaction i think you know
most
most countries agree that they don't want iran to have a nuclear weapon right
well uh... i mean what's the reaction in a situation like this when iran is
trying to deny them explosion even happened bsr their international
reaction
uh... if this is what keeps happening i think
we may just continue on this path for a long time
