Nutrisystem Review
Hello, future skinny viewers! Today we are going to talk about the popular dieting program,
Nutrisystem. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this system. Hopefully,
this overview will help you decide if Nutrisystem is right for you.
What is Nutrisystem?
Nutrisystem is a weight loss system that actually provides you with the balanced meals you need
to be successful in dropping pounds. These meal plans encompass variety, convenience,
hunger control, and nutrition and best of all, they are delivered straight to your door.
Weight loss doesn't get any lazier than this!
The system has multiple programs for men and women, including the traditional plan, the
silver plan, the D plan, and the lacto-ovo vegetarian plan. There are also the options
of Basic, Core, and Select packages. I'll explain what all this means in just a little
bit, for now, just know that there are multiple options for those with different dietary limitations.
What is so great about it?
Number 1: It's so easy and convenient! Have you ever noticed that everyone wants to lose
weight without exerting any effort? Well, this is about as close to that as you are
going to get. There are more than 100 ready-to-go meals that don't require refrigeration and
will be delivered straight to your doorstep.
Number 2: You've got options! There are SO many options for different dietary limitations
and preferences. To start, men and women have different plans, as each sex has different
caloric needs. Besides the traditional plan, there is a vegetarian option, an option for
those individuals with diabetes, and an option for dieters over the age of 60.
On top of that, there are three options for the different plans: Basic, Core, and Select.
The Basic is the cheapest plan with preselected meals, free shipping, and free access to online
tools.
The Core is the most popular plan with a fully customizable menu and personal advice from
counselors and dieticians, as well as all the perks of the basic plan.
The Select is the premium plan with a combination of no-fridge-needed and frozen foods and unlimited
access to support from counselors and dietitians, as well as all the perks of the other two
plans.
Number 3: It's pretty hard to screw this up. This plan literally gives you the food you
are going to eat. Unless you are cheating, you are going to lose weight because the calorie
deficit is built in. On the flip side, this does not build long-term habits, but we'll
get to that in a minute...
Number 4: You aren't doing this alone. It is nearly impossible to get through a huge
life change without support. The Nutrisystem program includes access to a site full of
tracking tools and support from counselors, dieticians, and other members. It also supports
your life after reaching your goal weight with transition and maintenance plans.
Why isn't it great?
Number 1: It's super easy! Wait, wasn't that listed as a positive? Yes, but that's also
a problem. When serious life changes are too easy, you will likely go back to old ways
after accomplishing your goal. So that's something to think about, will you be able to maintain
without the perfectly portioned packaged meals?
Number 2: How tasty can packaged goods be? Okay, so the website says it's delicious.
I'm calling bull crap. There are so many complaints out there about the taste of the food and
it's no wonder why! I mean, how tasty does non-refrigerated packaged diet food sound?
*crickets* It doesn't sound good at all. For ease of use, you are going to trade great
taste. You really can't have both.
Number 3: The portions are very small -- and not just compared to America's super sized
meal mentality. Like legitimately small. It may be difficult to go from eating Chipotle
burritos as big as your head to a 5 inch diameter diet pizza. Remember that going in.
Number 4: It's expensive. I'll go through the actual numbers in a second, but the prices
are very high compared to the amount of food you are getting. So unless you truly believe
the online support you receive from Nutrisystem is ”priceless", it may not be worth the
cost.
How much is it?
For the traditional plans, the Basic plan costs about $9 a day, the Core plan costs
about $10 a day, and the Select plan costs about $12 a day. The other three options cost
around the same amount, give or take $1 a day. These prices are auto-delivery, they
will increase if you don't use the auto-delivery option.
Now that you know what Nutrisystem is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself
whether or not it is the best weight loss program for you. Please let us know in the
comments if you have ever used Nutrisystem or any other diet program and what you thought
of it. Have a great day!
