What's shaking you sexy ***, Wolf here how the hell are you guys ?
And what I've got for you is some WarFace gameplay, which is what this video is going
to focus on. I want to share with you my thoughts and overall first impressions of the game.
What I like, what I don't, and if this is a game you might want to consider adding to
your game library.
First off what is WarFace all about
WarFace is a free to play first person shooter in Beta well obviously. It's developed by
Crytek, the same company that's behind the Far Cry and Crisis franchises. WarFace is
they're first dip into the free to play market, and like their other games it uses the CryEngine.
The game focuses on two modes. Co Op which puts you with a squad of 3 others where you
fight against AI. And Verses which is your regular multiplayer and has modes such as
free for all, team death match, capture you know the typical stuff that you would find
in most first person shooters
Players can choose between 4 classes, those being Assault which is your sort of basic
infantry type person. Medic's who can revive dead players, snipers......we all know what
snipers do.....*** campers. And engineers who specialize in demolitions.
Like other free to play shooters you earn credits which can be used to buy weapons and
gear. You can also use real money to purchase special credits to unlock special weapons,
gear, you know the typical free to play kinda thing. Or as some call it pay to win.
Now when this game initially was announced about a year ago it was being proclaimed as
this "big leap" in free to play games. They created GFACE which is more or less their
version of Origin or Steam. And the game has done pretty well in Russia. Outside of Russia
the game.......well let's be honest it performed like a salty ***. I actually tried to download
and try this game out initially only to be left pulling my hair out and swearing because
1. I speak no Russian 2. I can't read no Russian 3. The damn thing crashed worse then a jumbo
jet full of *** nuns into a large office tower. So I had pretty much given up on this
game until it was announced that it was available on Steam back on July 1st. And frankly it
boggles my mind that such a game wouldn't be launched there first to begin with. I mean
Crytek is a huge company, or trying to be a huge company, and they've made some very
well known games. You would think if they're trying to make money they would go to Steam
to put their game on there. It just makes sense to me, I mean why wouldn't they do that.
But hey that's Crytek, they tried to do it their own way. It didn't work out for them
so they finally brought it to Steam
Now despite what a lot of people have been saying about this game who've played it before
its Steam release, the game is alright in my opinion. On the high settings it looks
pretty decent graphically. There are a good amount of weapons, gear and skins to allow
a lot of customization. The maps are overall pretty decent with a nice mix of open and
tight spaces for all manner of shenanigans.
Another thing I like about this game is the ability to swap out weapon parts while in
game. As you level up you'll unlock scopes, magazines, etc that you can switch around
while in game. For example you got an enemy whose camping like a ***,you can't quite
use your typical iron sight scope to get him. But you can swap it out for a high powered
scope, and zoom in for that oh so sweet head shot. And then swap it back to your iron sights
for some spray to pray type shenanigans. It's *** fantastic I love it.
But is this game a revolution in free to play gaming not even close. For starters the character
models are pretty flat, with limited face types and who move rather rigid. When compared
to games like BF4 and Titanfall it looks pretty outdated and generic.
The game also has a bad reputation which is going to shadow this game like a *** ninja.
A lot of people have complained about problematic lag, and were generally unimpressed with this
game. And like a raging case of *** a bad reputation never really goes away you can
use a cream but it always comes crawling back.
The AI in CO OP mode also feels outdated, almost rushed if you will. Enemy bots tend
not to really use cover but rather like rushing you instead, or stand out in the open almost
begging for you to shoot them in the balls. It's kinda like a throw back to earlier first person
shooters like Modern Warfare.
But overall the game is a decent enough free to play. There are better ones on the market
for sure and this one has its fair share of problems but I enjoyed it enough that i'll
keep playing it and you'll see it in future videos for sure. I mean its a decent enough
game, its a decent enough game and its still in Beta so its going to get a lot of fixes
and updates, new maps and things like that. So yeah I'm going to keep playing it, I'm
intrigued enough that i'll keep playing it.
