Are Bosch appliances considered high end?
They are certainly at the high end of the price scale.
The price of the Bosch machine goes up with the series number. For example, the 300 series
is cheaper than the 500 series.
Unfortunately, they only add additional features like displays that light up the floor as the
price goes up. The quality of the machines doesn’t rise with price.
What do you think of their designs?
Bosch dishwashers are built for the European market, so they are smaller than American
ones. There are complaints that all of our dishes don’t fit.
They are also ultra-efficient.
Bosh does not use stainless steel that is completely passivated. This means that it
can rust.
OK, that’s a major problem. It’s only not a problem if I have one of their appliances
that fits under the counter and looks like a door.
If the unit rusts, water can leak out even if you don’t see it.
And that would ruin my floor. I would want to take that up with customer service.
Bosch has poor customer service. When their appliances go bad, they like to blame Americans
for using them incorrectly.
While there are differences between the U.S. and Europe, the appliances should operate
the same. It isn’t like we’re those Indian immigrants who store snacks in the dishwasher
while washing dishes by hand.
When you need replacement parts, they like to say the parts have to come from Germany.
But do the techs do a good job? Are they better than the stereotypical plumber with low rise
blue jeans and a fat butt crack?
Bosch sends a lot of repair people to your home before the problem is diagnosed.
That’s what warranties are for.
If they say it is unrepairable, they may or may not replace it under warranty. And they
tend to take so long to fix the problems that they fall out of warranty.
I’m falling out of love with this brand.
