hey everyone Im Iru, I'm
24 years old and I live in Canary islands, Spain
I'll start by saying that
I spent most my life, twenty-two years
basically lost
and unhappy, we could say un happy
I was trying to go unnoticed
trying to tiptoe my way through life
and needless to say
nobody can be truly happy living like that
I had tried two degrees at university, later dropped from them
then I made
little income for two years
by playing poker,
but when I started lifting
I found out.. fitness taught me many things
for example
that one has no limits
one only has the limits he sets upon himself
you can allways push your comfort zone
you can allways try to better yourself
not just in the phisical aspect
physical aspect but in all areas
of life
really opened my eyes I started another degree two years ago
this time
for real
I study now a degree in translation
english and French
and I no longer want to be just another
sheep. I practice what I preach now
I like to think
that I am, but hopefully more and more as time goes on
that I am a living example, and I want to inspire people
too better themselves in all areas of their life
this is not just about the body, the body
is nothing. When you sign at the gym
it's allways for the body, because you want to look great at the beach
but that's ***, excuse me for the word
this is about finding your path in life
and for me weightlifting "corrected" my
let's say wrong situation
I'm still broke, here in Spain the situation is very difficult
and I still live with my parents
but I discovered my passion
I discovered that weightlifting was my passion
and.. I'm probably a
frustrated athlete
I'm too old already to seek a career in soccer, which I love,
but I never moved a finger
to pursue anything I E
I don't know what I'll do in life
I don't know if I'll be a translator, if I'll be a personal trainer..
but fitness is my passion
sports is what makes
blood flow through my veins,
life flow through my veins, and
I'd like to reach out to as many people as possible
because I know there's a many people out there
not only young but also in their thirties
who still are not too happy with their current situation
So if i can
help them
let's say "find their path"
I'll be really happy. I think that's what's really important in life
the footstep you leave behind you
That's basically it
this contest for me
is a chance to live
under those standards. Thanks for watching
and I hope it didn't feel too long
