Moment of Reflection
Today we speak of the Sacrament of Peace
but the Sacrament of Peace
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Here we touch the core of the inner life, at the heart of redemption, at the heart of the Gospel.
Let us live this faith, this hope and love.
Let us live the theological virtues, so called,
because they are what bind us to God and unite us to Him
Let us live this humble confidence "and everything else shall be given you besides."
Is it (the Trust) that intimately unites the soul to Jesus,
establishing the intimate heart to heart with him,
connecting the branch to the vine, which is Him
"If anyone thirsts, and especially thirst for purity and love, that comes to Me and drink ...
Whoever believes in me will feel the welling up within him rivers of living water "
It is understood that a thirsty soul so fervently recourse to the Sacrament of Penance
That is, the confession, which is wonderful source of humility, means of recognizing their sins,
and repent of them, in the supernatural joy confess,
despite the repugnance of nature, which is the occasion to renew, with all my heart,
the firm intention to correct, especially when diving, once again,
like the prodigal son, the hearth of Mercy.
Although he thinks that their communion, the sacraments,
acts of trusting love already purified, will faithfully receive it, with priestly absolution,
a very special purification, because sacramental, a new outpouring of the Blood of Christ on it,
as their only hope, without forgetting that this feature is necessary in any case, for misconduct.
I think I will be like, because I need to be happy,
I need to live in love, I need to forgive me know.
Psychiatrists attribute much of the neuroses,
of mental health problems, so numerous in our day,
the suffering caused by the feeling of guilt.
For unbelievers, the remedy for this is to abolish the notion of sin.
Radical remedy, of course, but do not. Consciousness is always there.
May come to smother it in part and temporarily, but not to kill, as you do not kill God.
No. The remedy is the peace that Jesus has placed in us,
with the certainty that we are forgiven because we are loved.
S. John says: - "If we say that we have no sin, we lie.
If we confess our sins and walk in the light, the Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin "
Our love for God is a love of friendship, a love received and love reciprocated,
Friendship is necessary as in a certain equality between two friends.
God became man, lowered Himself to us, he became like us.
And on the other hand, by sanctifying grace, raised us to Himself
Thus, we can do with him this life of friendship that S. Thomas speaks with admirable penetration:
"In the love of friendship, is the one who loves his friend, because the make your own good and evil friend.
Therefore, it is proper for friends want the same things. "
What does friendship is, therefore, mutual trust, a common want.
Jesus has a heart like our own. He took it, in order to love us, as we would love.
This is the reason why a sin offends and hurts the confidence more than a sin of weakness.
We note that often, to reward an act of trust,
Jesus gives us the opportunity to commit an act of even greater confidence.
Remember the scene in the lake. The apostles were in the boat that was hit by the waves because the wind was against him.
In the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them walking on the sea.
The disciples took him for a ghost, and shouted with terror.
Jesus then said: - "Have faith. It is I. Do not be afraid. "
Peter then said: - "Lord, if art thou, command me to come to You, on the water."
- "Come," said Jesus.
Peter cast into the waters, but, seeing the violence of the wind, afraid.
And, beginning to sink, he cried: - "Lord, save me!"
Then Jesus reaches out, holds it, and tells him:
- "Man of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"
Peter had done a great act of trust launching into the sea.
As a reward, Jesus gave him the opportunity to commit an act of even greater confidence,
allowing it to soak in water. Peter made the first act of trust, but, alas!
Did not the second!
Martha and Mary show, so refined, their trust in Jesus,
the bedside of the dying Lazarus, driving to the Master that prayer of marvelous delicacy,
which proved how they knew his heart, his compassion, his friendship with Lazarus:
- "Lord, whom you love is sick!"
Oh! how Jesus must have felt touched by such a request!
Martha and Mary to reward the delicacy of his confidence, lets Lazarus die,
giving them an opportunity to act a thousand times greater trust, an act of faith in the omnipotence:
Jesus raised Lazarus, but, as always, needs an act of faith.
Who is Martha recalls: - "I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in me will never die. Do you believe? "
Here's the big question, the condition of the miracle:
- "I believe I can do it? Do you think I will do it, I'll raise your brother? "
Martha makes the act of faith: - "Yes, Lord. I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. "
've Said before: - "I know that whatever you ask God, He will give it you."
So do you love Jesus with. Do not listen to an opening prayer, allows an even greater setback.
And here we are desolate: "Oh! Ask and I have not been met. All is lost. It is finished. God does not hear me, loves me not. "
Because God loves you, wants to see how far will your trust. Want to be able to tell you, as the Canaanite
- "Great is thy faith."
Do not do like Peter sinking in the waters, but do like Martha and Mary at the tomb of Lazarus.
My brothers and sisters: Trust to death. Believe. Belief in the omnipotence of God, believe in love. - "Lord, increase my faith!"
(From "Trust in Love" - Jean d'Elbe)
+ Blessing of God Almighty and infinitely merciful Father, Son and Holy Spirit
descend upon you, cleanse your soul from all sin and give you His Peace
- Amen.
