What's very important to us...
...to enter a dialogue with people,
not involved into graffiti.
People who'd stand in front of a tag
and exclaim: "That looks like ***!",
The drawing next to it...
...they'd say: "Wow, that's beautiful!"
Disregarding that..
"beautiful pictures" evolved from "tags"!
That dialogue is important,to overcome prejudice.
Germany, land of ideas!
We don't have primary materials, but we have
creative people,they should be supported!
OK, interview with Cemnoz...
You'd immediately realize that
your child is a graffiti sprayer..
OK, interview two...
If the clothes smelled or were covered of paint..
Attention!
An other take:
Your child talks strangely and uses
English expressions..such as "tag"...
Your child also talks strangely and uses English expressions...
such as "tag", meaning "signature"...
Watch out!!!
Great, thank you...
"Endless walls"
Inter-cuts no. 4..
Stop! Press stop! Let it record though..
I just had another idea for an other shot..
Look, something like that!
We are quoting a police special commission guy...
who explains to parents in a yello-press article,
how parents would realize their children were sprayers:
"your child keeps a black-book, containing graffiti drafts"
"Your child keeps a scrapbook...ah black-book
Uh? with skatches...in, in themselves...
Jeder Künstler sieht etwas anderes.
Da stecken viele Facetten in dem Bild.
Also, jeder der sich das anschaut...
für jemanden ist vielleicht die Krone wichtig
vielleicht der Jungle, das Universum da...
Jeder kann sich etwas aussuchen,
gibt Denkanstöße, und auch die
Verbindungen zwischen den Elementen..
...there still exists a police special commission
and they came here a few days ago
taking pictures..
To make investigations?
Right, maybe from people, too.
Hey, *** off with your camera!
We have everything on the spot...
...graffiti is a kind of universe...
...we have Berlin old- and new school
Berlin's “Kings and Toys”, all gathered here at R.A.W
They all jointly work here.
Die Grenzen zwischen Streetart und Graffiti
sind eher fließend...
Graffiti ist aber schon anders,
mehr Buchstaben.
Streetart ist etwas, wo du mehr
...leting in quality and keep off the rest.
...message drin finden kannst.
Of course this has to become a lab for those...
Ich würde nicht sagen wollen,
...dass auf einer Wand mit Buchstaben
...who aren't so experienced yet.
...weniger Botschaft drinsteckt,
For those to grow into culture.
...Leute erreichen.
They'd learn about the rules,
We don't really see what you're exactly doing,
the spectator won't be able to allocate..
don't worry, we'll cut that anyway.
Legal – illegal, there is always that conflict,
do I work on assignment, keep undercover?
Or am I entirely legal?
Concerning legal artists, drawing characters,
we only have Gino Fuchs on location.
He is amongst the renowned celebrities here.
We would like to act as a floodgate...
as old hands become their paragons.
So, ties of generations also exist amongst
the graffiti scene.
It doesn't matter weather you use your fingers...
...or stuff like that.
It works even better, using your hand, I'd say.
You'll have a better sense of it, you know.
I haven't much time left.
I'll have to go working tomorrow. ***!
That's the fate of many others, too...
It's a growing market...
...that experienced sprayers teach pupils...
...in schools, throughout project weeks.
They'd hold graffiti- lessons.
It's still an effort, like finding the eye of a needle.
But it's a goal, an ongoing graffiti- lobby work...
like at the moment, to establish that educational work.
So that it'll turn into a common offer...
...within schools and leisure time facilities.
Than pupils could decide for an hour or two to...
simply go for graffiti- lessons,
a project- week...
For the moment it's still uncommon,
but we are aiming to establish that thought.
There are many talents out there,
...we'd encourage
We've to find them and vice versa.
Nein.
Creativity mustn't be confused
with that compartmentalization like:
"lets go slashing seats",
"lets go scratching windows".
Graffiti, as you can see here, might be...
to stand on a ladder for 5 days,
...and have a great community experience.
Have fun! It needn't be illegal.
It's more about quality, when you open
up spaces like these.
The New York Times wrote,
...that Berlin was world's graffiti- capital...
When it comes to children, I often turn didactical.
I have to admit, I become instructive.
There are many many shades of grey...
...hard to believe, that many shades..
We only have a small number of legal walls.
What's the big idea?
Politicians decided in 2005 to toughen the rules...
They'd organize anti- graffiti conferences,
but wouldn't even think of handing over new walls!
It's about youth- culture which had had to be supported...
Supporting youth is even guarented by Constitution!
