JASON: thunder::tech is an integrated marketing agency
headquartered here in Cleveland, Ohio.
I actually started thunder::tech out of my
college dorm room.
At first, we were just a web design and
web development shop.
But very quickly, we identified a growing desire
from clients to have all their marketing services come from a
single source.
And really, much later, folks started calling this
integrated marketing.
Eventually we began expanding our services to where today we
now offer the skills of an ad agency, a tech firm, a PR
communication shop, a web design development
consultancy, and a graphic design studio.
And of course, all of this is under one roof and fully
integrated here.
KELLY: So that's what makes thunder::tech different.
We have all these skill sets right in house so clients only
have to come right to us instead of talking to six
different agencies.
BRUCE: The open environment is fantastic, not just for
collaboration but for just bouncing ideas off each other.
The instant feedback accelerates the speed at which
we can bring good ideas to life and discard bad ones.
It makes us all better.
JUSTIN: The culture at thunder::tech is really
incredible.
It's a bunch of really smart, talented people working
together to do some pretty great things and people are
doing really cool things outside of work too.
Volunteering and helping out in the community.
CONNIE: We already recycled, but I thought we threw away
too much of our leftover food, so I started a composting
program and we'll use the compost in our rooftop garden.
MARC: At thunder::tech, we're committed to helping our
employees further their careers.
We invest heavily in continuing education and send
team members to a number of conferences and
seminars every year.
We also have a regular Lunch and Learn series where we
present topics of interest to everyone in the agency.
ANDREA: It doesn't matter if you've been at thunder::tech
for one or 10 years, your ideas are going to be heard.
We have a diverse team and ideas are always coming from
unexpected places and we do encourage that.
MARC: If I had to list the top three elements that attract
people to thunder::tech, I'd have to say it would be
reputation for quality work, our fun culture, and our
strong standing in community.
Oh and the time machine.
JASON: Right.
Our time machine.
CRAIG: So when I first interviewed at thunder::tech,
I was like, what do you mean you have a time machine?
JASON: The funny thing was, it was actually one of the first
integrated projects we worked on.
BEN: Quantum physics hypothesizes that there're
already a number of alternate realities in which
thunder::tech's already created a time machine.
It was a simple matter of building an Einstein-Rosen
bridge-- known to some as a wormhole--
and traveling to one of these realities and asking them how
they built a time machine.
Then we just had to go to Radio Shack
and pick up the parts.
MARISSA: You know it sounds really exciting at first.
Going back in time and meeting all these famous people.
Awesome!
But then you meet a couple of them and it's kind of
disappointing.
Alexander the Great?
Not so great.
ERIC: So they told you about the time machine?
[POWERING UP SOUND]
That's the time machine.
CRAIG: When I first started, I was really intrigued by the
time machine but after a while, it's no big deal.
You just settle down and focus on doing good work.
JASON: It's a bright, shiny object.
Something that we use to show off to clients but honestly
there's fewer commercial uses for a time machine than you
might think.
BRUCE: There's no cubicles here at thunder::tech.
We believe that collaboration is at the heart of--EEK!
[EXPLOSION]
VIKING: [BLOOD-CURDLING SCREAMING]
CRAIG: Damn it!
Who left the time machine on?
